IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2008 | Help I cant figure this out!!! As stated my 2008 sti alarm goes off at random..I will lock the car using the FOB, the alarm sets ok.....then afew hours or a day later the alarm goes off.... Once it does go off, and I try to re-arm it it will keep going off 10 seconds after it is armed. I have to let it sit unlocked and unarmed for a few hours and then I can re-arm it....I have taken it to the dealer and they lowered the shock sensor all the way to the point that shaking the car wont set it off.. I have changed the battery in the FOB. I have changed the battery in the car to a new Interstate battery.... I make sure nothing is on in the car (No Lights cellphones etc. left pluged in). I cant figure this out!! And no one is near the car when the alarm does go off. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2008 | i have been to the dealer twice already, they said it was the battery first---not!!! then they said its the shock sensor---not! IM going again monday for the same issue, im just wondering if anyone has had the same issue so i can give the dealer a hint.........If the dealer is just guessing I will end up going back there 100 times before they figure it out at this rate!!! |

IWSTI Addict since: Jul 2008 | what it might be happining is that one of the door triggers might be bad. if one of them are bad and have a "short" in them they might be false triggering. next check the hood pin. find it and try to disconnect it. set the alarm and c if its goes off. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2008 | there is no sensor on the hood for the 2008 sti. I can set the alarm with the hood open..... if a door trigger was bad the little light on the dash would light up randomly while im driving. I have never see the door ajar light come on, only when i open a door or hatch. I also pushed on each door tigger individually and they seem to work.. if i open a door and push in the triger the light on the dash goes out.. any one else have any guesses? |
