Default Sti hatchback brake light

Hey guys so my rear passenger side brake light went out... Can i fix this with a bulb? Or do I need to get a new tail light? I'm hoping it's just a bulb, thanks.

If it's the brake light (red) that went out, I'm pretty sure you have to replace the whole housing as it's a bunch of LED's for the brake light, not a single bulb that can be replaced.

+1, I do not believe the brake/tail light unit is serviceable. The reverse bulb and turn signal bulb are user replaceable but I do not believe the LED part is. Could you open it up and replace the LED board? Technically I think so if you are good with a soldering iron, but those four tail lamp units typically go for 45-55/ea on ebay or CL.

You should not have to replace these often, so even though it's fifty bucks hopefully you won't have to replace that one again.

Yeah it kind of sucks, but it's actually lucky you can the light for 50 bucks or so. It's a bummer if you had them painted or anything like that, and I agree I'd rather keep my original lights if possible. But there's the potential for it to cost a lot more for sure.
