IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2008 | I have been using the Cobb Stage 2 map for the past 17,000 miles - through various revisions. Although I've never spent much time concerning myself with boost levels, the few times I hooked up the AP as a monitor I would see the boost at 18psi (which might have been the limit of the AP at the previous map version 1.03?). This week, I updated to the most recent firmware, flashed with Stage 2, 91oct, v1.04 and did some data logging. I think I'm over-boosting as my data logs show a max 19.8 psi, slightly above the specified 19.3 (18.5+/- .8) but no knock. Outside temps were around 10F. Until I get some feedback, I'm running the Stage 2, 91oct, LWG v1.04 map but it certainly does not feel as fast, and not nearly as smooth. Boost is peaking within tolerances at 18.2, and no knock. Three Questions: 1. Is 19.8 psi abnormal, or safe? 2. Can anyone explain how the LWG map works? Cobb lists the power gains on their website to be the same between Stage 2, and Stage 2 LWG. 3. Has anyone else noticed any negative nuances with the Stage 2 91, v1.04 LWG map? IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2008 | That sounds normal to me. Personally "I" wouldn't run an OTS Stage 2 tune, as there are more variables than just the Stage 1, but that's just me. When I got protuned on my 08, I was hitting 20.7 PSI, so if you're hitting 19.8, you're fine. How are your AFRs? Temperature will also play into some of that, as well. I do remember running the OTS Stage 2 for a few days, and yes it was a little higher than Cobb's numbers, and it was just fine. |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2006 | I'm sure it has to do with it being 10 degrees outside. |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2009 | Both the LWG and non-LWG maps should put out the same power, as long as they're being run properly. If you're running the non-LWG map and overboosting, sure it'll feel faster until the ECU shuts you down with a code. But that means the map isn't right for the car and is asking too much. Both maps will make the same power at the same PSI. It's just you need to figure out which is better for you to make that PSI and not overboost. |

Thanks WilliamG: It's reassuring to hear that I'm on the rich side of things while under power. | |

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2009 | The LWG maps simply have lower WGDCs so the turbo boosts lower. Everything else should be pretty much the same. |
