| Advanced Mastery Level II Feedback Score: 7 reviews Car: 2010 SS STI Fav Mod: Front-seat Shih tzu | Hmmm. Just goes to show how potent that 09 WRX really is. I was truly blown away. I will reiterate: I could NOT pull on him, and his car just feels faster when riding as a passenger (perhaps the longer gearing makes it feel that way, as well as the not being in control). I feel like on a track day, the STI would be better because of its more even power band and "always ready" power, but for the street, that 09 is just a demon! I'm going CobbAP Stage 2 next weekend, so I wonder if that will help? Food for thought, anyway... Yes, many will complain about it being a highway run and from a dead stop it might be a different story. But it is what it is. He wins. 09 WRX FTW! 08 STI FTL. All thoughts/comments welcome. My thoughts are longer gearing, and the WRX sedan weighs 221lbs less than the STI.... Last edited by WilliamG; 07-19-09 at 06:05 PM. |

| Advanced Contributor Level 1 Feedback Score: 0 reviews Car: 08 Black Pearl STI Fav Mod: Non-busted engine | Thats pretty sad and surprising. What gear were you in? Were you running to redline? Even if it is "faster" who gives a $hit... I bought my STi for less than an 09 WRX... -RL |

| Advanced Contributor Level 4 Feedback Score: 0 reviews Car: 08 lightning red sti Fav Mod: Your mom | Bleh, if it takes a stage 2 STI to do a highway pull, imagine what a stage 2 WRX would be doing. I still think the fender flares alone are worth the price of the STi Plus the brembo's are pure sex to me! |

| Advanced Mastery Level II Feedback Score: 7 reviews Car: 2010 SS STI Fav Mod: Front-seat Shih tzu | Well people can defend the 08 STI all they want. The truth is the 09 WRX weighs less and requires less shifting! I believe I was in 3rd gear for 60mph run (remember you can't hit 60mph in 2nd without hurting the car) and still 3rd for the 70mph run. I'm not trying to start any fights here. I know how to drive my car, - but the fact is he moved ahead pretty much every time we set off, before I even got to change gear! |

Maybe you should have started in 4th? I'm pretty sure I would have. Is your car tuned? Have you done any logs? No way that race should go down like that.

| Advanced Contributor Level 1 Feedback Score: 1 reviews Car: SWP '09 WRX Premium Fav Mod: Coming Soon | I was more a fan of the 5spd in my LGT than the 6spd in my Spec B. Just seemed to pull harder, and they're the same thing power wise. |

| Advanced Contributor Level 4 Feedback Score: 1 reviews Car: Silver 08 STI Fav Mod: Not here yet | gearing, weighs less, broader power band. My son's 09 wrx (stock) is as quick as my 08 sti. His car w/ cobb AP stg 1 is much quicker. STI handles a bit better out of the box but not by much (except at the limit where the STI clearly has the advantage). cheers |
