IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2005 | Just goes to show a lot of it comes down to the driver, and when you take a driver who isn't highly skilled and put him in a car that has a bunch of doo-hickeys helping out, he will drive alot better in the doo-hickey'd car than the other one. In this case, a highly skilled driver could drive both cars almost as well the other - further proving that the 08 is a great car, you just have to know what you're doing with it. |

for those that missed it... the Stig posted a faster laptime in the '08 sti vs the evo X (regular 300HP version). it was close. but the sti was faster J.

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2006 | any talk about the STI in the magazine? Wonder how better tires and a stage 1 tune would do for the time. |

| STI Driver Feedback Score: 0 reviews | I want to see more races of stock evo vs stock sti. It seems to just be more bias than any thing, I want like x number of drives drive both cars and see what car had the fastest average or something like that. |

EXACTLY, but then you get the "this mod will help, or with this mod the other car would ___" - but agreed, the OEM tires aren't anywhere near the grip performance of the Yokohamas or whatever comes on the Evo these days.

I thought Subaru only released two STI motors, a 2.0L (1998cc) for Japan and the 2.5L (2457cc) for the rest of the world. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2008 | For the majority of the tests these car magazines conduct... does the same driver test each car? That would seem to be the most accurate way to make true comparisons. |
