Ordered and received mine already. Just waiting to schedule a time with my son to help install it. The pics of Jeff Perrin's STi and website pics were good enough for me. Was wanting one of these kits a long time already. I think it adds to the overall look by making the rear spoiler stand out as an actual performance piece vs adornment trim like most hatches out there. The cleaner rear window is a bonus.

The only negative I can see - is that you lose about 20 to 25% of the hatch's vertical travel. Watch your noggin!

This is pretty interesting however the fact that you cant open the hatch all the way is a deal breaker.

PERRIN Wing Riser Install 2008+ Subaru WRX & STI Hatch - YouTube

2:59 mark is how far the hatch opens.

I'm excite to see the results of the first person who forgets to tighten the gheto cables or they slip or break and their wing smashes into the top of the car.

LOL, wow. Perfect for those who think the hatch is just too functional. Why would anyone want to reduce the ability to open the hatch just to make something look cool?

What happens when someone who doesn't know about this cool little mod opens the hatch and smashes it up or you simply forget about it?

If you read this thread thoroughly, you'll see that the cable stops are included with the kit to avoid exactly this. Perrin didn't become who they are by selling product that creates a firestorm of lawsuits. I'm in good enough shape to bend down when reaching into my hatch (which I do now anyway) so it's not an issue for me. For fatter or taller people - it may be a problem. The look is great, and can always be reversed back to stock. Also - drilling doesn't occur in the wing, it occurs in a plastic insert connected to the wing.
