IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2008 | I had a set of NRG hood dampers on my 05 LGT. they were great. have a set of the Teins on the 07 STI. they aren't cheap, but well worth the $$ imo. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2008 | I'm thinking of getting the seibon version of your car. Should we be concerned about the six extra openings on the hood? I'm worried about water getting through there and getting into our sri or cai. What do you all think? Btw, great looking car! |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2008 | Thanks! I was concerned about water getting in there as well, but with this hood and with the Seibon CW, the vents are far enough back so that water wouldn't reach the CAI. I've popped the hood after I've washed it to see where the water falls and it's not even close to the CAI. I'm in SoCal, so I really don't have to deal with very much rain. If you have a lot of rain where you're at, it would be easy enough to get something that would block off a few of the vents. Make sure you get the lightweight hood dampers as well, the stock ones are way to strong for a CF hood. |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2008 | Should paint the hood while you're at it too. It'd probably look great matched to the car. PS: how much weight did you save by converting to a CF hood? |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2008 | I saved about 22-23 pounds. You don't realize how heavy the stock steel hood is until you have it off. |
