I think I already have this on my car. Did they do this to the later build date 08s?

Sometime after the stop sale I believe. I had a one with the old film but got my car repainted and the new film put on because I had a few chips in my paint (like only 1 or 2 on one side of the car only)

Unless the car is a show car who cares? I mean seriously... it is a car, its a wear item. If you only use your car to show at car shows then sure be pissed (but I bet you wouldn't even be driving it enough to have an issue.

If you bought the car to drive it, stop your *****in

This isn't a mythical problem, it is quite real. Most wouldn't consider stripping the paint down to the primer in 3000 miles of driving normal wear. If you live anywhere near a coast where there is sand on the road you will have bad road rash in a matter of months.

If you want to get your dealer to install the new stuff for you they will need to take pictures. Subaru is doling out the new parts on a case-by-case basis. I knew it was going to be a problem from everyone on the west coast that got their cars three months before the east, so I made my own panel out of bulk 3m film. I drove the car for three weeks before installing it though and wound up having to touch up and wetsand about 20 chips per side before I could install the film.

I just had the factory 09 side protection removed and added more protection and was wondering if regular avery material will be as thick and resiliant as the original i had removed. I had the whole side skirt done in one piece so there are no longer seems and the protection by the door no longer has any gaps so the only visable seem is the one on the door piece. Looks great and have quite a bit more protection. I am hoping the material is just as thick and protects the same?
