What are turn signal "stealth" bulbs?

they are basically regular turn signal bulbs, but coated-over in chrome. when installed, there looks like nothing is there, until you hit the switch to indicate your turning. then they light up the normal amber color. i did this on the 2003 WRX i had as well. it cleans up the look nicely (almost got them for the EDM STi projector lights as well)

here is a pic of what i mean (this pic was also on the back of the packaging)

Ah. Could you share part numbers / links for the bulbs you used?

Just got an 09 in dark gray metallic. I want to do something with the tail lights. Originally I was thinking of a smoke film, but I really like how these red cutouts look. I'm not sure it would look as good on the dark gray car though. Anybody have an image of that?

My overlays just came in! Going to drop them on tomorrow maybe. I think I will be the first I have seen on here or nasioc with a White/Gold STI with smoked tails with cutouts.
