If get an EWG and dump it into the atmosphere, then it will take some load off of the exhaust so you won't notice too much of a power drop with 2.5"

Very true. But there is always the thought that going from 3" down to 2.75" will choke the turbo, but I guess it depends on what else he is getting.

Bahrain, what else are you adding? Bigger turbo, etc.? I think that will help us help you.

To be honest i am not sure yet either, what i hv in mind so far is the following:
Greddy SE CBE
Cattless DP ( since i realised that cattless would be better for my car once tuned properly)
AEM CAI
Manual boost control
Proffesional tune

You'll be fine with the greddy in this case.

If you decide to go bigger in the future, you MAY need to get a different exhaust, but that is very debatable.

I wasn't very happy with how the GReddy SE fit against the Invidia DP (catted in my case). The Greddy fit perfectly against the stock DP tho before I switched. I'm sure some kind of adapter or thicker gasket would work though. I just decided to buy an Invidia cbe.

good luck!

If he is thinking big power, would AMR be a better choice? They have a TBE solution that would fit better with his goals.

On a side note, what the heck is Daywicks problem?

If your only worry is the taper you can always have a reputable shop slice it off and put a flat 3 inch on there. I haven't heard it in person but on youtube Greedy SE is the best sounding exhaust Ive heard so far.
