IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2008 | Steye, i have a perrin 1 piece downpipe. i first used the 3" flat gasket from my downpipe to the megan mid pipe but i had a huge leak and i could not tighten the bolts anymore. So i took off the midpipe and noticed an imprint in one of the ends on the mid pipe that would seat the donut gasket. i tried that with the spring bolts and had no leaks so i figured that i was golden. I should had taken pictures but the round end on the donut gasket goes into the megan midpipe and the flat end of the donut gasket goes onto the downpipe. one other observation. on the midpipe, the end that connects to the downpipe looks to be 2.5" and the other side 3". can anymore confirm this? thanks in advance. IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2008 | update, i spoke to megan racing and they said to use the donut gasket if i'm using an aftermarket downpipe. i would only use a flat gasket if both ends were flat which the megan mid pipe end is somewhat rounded. I was also told their exhaust is made to marry up with an oem downpipe not aftermarket |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2004 | The end (closest to the DP) is similar to the stock midpipe connection. You should be able to use a flat flange or donut type gasket. |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2008 | on the fence on putting back my oem exhaust. anyone interested in my 2wk used megan black exhaust? i'm thinking of selling it due to the following mid pipe to aftermarket downpipe is 2.5 inches and made to fit oem downpipe. if it was a full 3 inches, it would fit better, IMO this exhaust would fit and work great with oem downpipe. sound is nice but i do miss the quiet oem exhaust. IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2009 | I was told that the black megan exhaust is 3". Is it different piping than the titanium tipped one? I have the black one mated to an invidia downpipe. I think I may have a leak at the dp/cbe joint location also. |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2008 | it's 2.5" from the front mid pipe to downpipe (for the donut gasket i'm guessing) , it's 3" from back mid pipe to the exhaust. i'll take pictures when i take it off. STiLLawd, did you use a flat 3" gasket or their 2.5 " donut gasket that shipped with the exhaust? |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2009 | the little circle thing that came in the little white box? I used their two gaskets to mate the three pieces of the catback together. I then used the gasket that came with my invidia dp to mate the two sections together. I checked and i have a HUGE exhaust leak where the cbe meets the dp. Its on the top portion of the joint. I am also using the bolts that came with the dp(the spring bolt setup has barely any thread if you install it the proper way... I think the CBE is pointing up a little bit which doesnt allow the two surfaces tomate properly. Im not sure what to do... WAs thinking of using two 3" gaskets instead of one to move them apart and maybe seal it up. I guess ill have to contact megan about this also. I tried to re-adjust it today but it still wont seal properly. |

Don't get me wrong, the stock CBE and Invidia connection aren't perfect. I had to sort of center the 2.5" CBE around the 3" DP connection then tighten it up. It wasn't a perfect connection (like as it would be with a 3" to 3"), but with aligning it up, it fit ok. | |
