It's being sold by a private seller, and the pic is definitely at a dealer lot. Looks like a scam to me

Aside from this being most def a scam or a mistake, why is everyone hating on the ESX? I may be missing something, but they seem like a pretty reputable tuner. I guess maybe people dont want to go that route and mod it themselves?

They might be a good tuner, but anyone who puts those kinds of wheels on an STI and changes the interior like they did gets my

Car just looks CHEAP, aside from the performance aspect of it....

Yeah, i agree with you on the whole interior/exterior thing. Red, just doesn't look good on an STi at all. the racing stripes are also incredibly tacky. Mod-wise the car seems pretty strong though.

Here's a quick way to findout:

Contact the person, get the VIN #.

Call ESX, give them the VIN #.

See if any of their cars match the VIN.

The ESX hate most likely comes from the fact that, other than custom paint and a few blot ons, there is nothing at all to justify the ~$50k retail tag they put on those cars.

Essentially, it's an overpriced Stage 2 (if that) STi. And it's red.

At least, that's my opinion.

Scam.... the guy will tell you he lives in europe and has to come back only for a short time to sell the car because somebody is sick. He will want a wire transfer to a fake or shady escrow company and thats that your money is gone. Nobody sells even a BS car like that for $9k.

Hello there,

If you are interested in my car you should know that it has never been wrecked or damaged,
the car is in excellent condition. All the manuals, clear title and the original documentation come along with the car. The total price that I 'm asking for the car including shipping and insurance fees will be $9,000.00. I am right now located in Glasgow, Scotland with my work for some time but we can work this out since the car is located in USA. Because it is a large transaction we will complete the deal only through Secure Trading.
If you are still interested just send me your full name and shipping address , phone number and I will open a case at Secure Trading and they will contact you with all the information about our deal.

Thank you and if you need more info's about the car feel free to contact me.

Regards

Jesus Christ people of course it's a scam.

By the way, my dad actually emailed one of these people once (thinking it might be real...I gave him tons of hell for it). Guy claimed it was at the "eBay shipping center" in Nevada to be shipped at no cost, and he had to sell it because his uncle was ill (WTF?).

Oh, and he was stationed at Pearl Harbor (mildly amusing as my dad actually was stationed there 18 years or so ago).

And after this response, my dad STILL called the guy. Interesting that he never called back...so I'm not sure where the scam was going.

It's pretty upsetting that these listing sites and newspapers (this was in the local newspaper) aren't more vigilant about getting rid of this crap.

PS - Whole text of that scammer's response:
Thank you for your email. You can find photos of the car at this web address: aar622's Public Gallery - AOL Pictures - this to avoid terrific upload times on email. The car is in pristine condition. It's accident-free and the title is clear. 1 Owner car and 33,150 original miles! Never smoked in, always garaged, no rust, no dents, no dings. Flawless both at the inside and outside. Has a $400 Viper alarm system installed with two way pager to notify you when someone is near (has a proximity sensor) as well as ignition kill and remote ignition kill (in case someone hijacks the car from you at a light). It was always garaged and kept very clean. The car is in Nevada. I planned to have it sold through eBay so it's there at eBay Shipping Center - eBay's service for acting as a third party in a transaction. They will manage the shipping to the buyer I find, they will also manage the payment, the inspection period (which is 10 days from the moment the buyer received the car) and th e title's registration to buyer's name. The car will be paid only after the buyer has inspected the car and agreed to buy it. The inspection period grants the buyer a full refund warranty in case the car isn't as advertised. I forgot to mention that the shipping to the buyer is free. I've chosen this method as I'm a US NAVY Lt. currently stationed at Pearl Harbor and my uncle has some health problems, problems that force me to sell this car. Interested in doing business? Then please send me your full name and address.
