Get the Z06. If AWD wasn't a necessity I'd still have my RWD car.

| 2 different cars that IMHO cannot be compared so... I say, go for it and if you miss the STI then later on you can get a nice 07 for much less.

Nothing can replace being able to say you owned one. Whether it be a Corvette, STi, or anything else.

| Well, If the vette is getting a little close to your price limit, try looking into a 03-04 cobra and swapping in a lysholm twin screw supercharger. Kenne bell made them back when I was a mustang guy. You put that on an 03 cobra and you are making well over 500 WHP. Thats right, wheel horsepower. If what you want is strait line acceleration for the dollar, its hard to beat an 03-04 cobra. Yes the Vette is better all around, but you are paying a lot more for the privilege. If I could have a RWD car as my DD this would be the car. I would have it in black with a steeda road race suspension and the Kenne Bell 2.2L whipple charger.

| I've got both right now. The STi is my daily driver and the Corvette is my "Toy". Quote:
The STi gives more feedback to the user than the Z06. I feel more confident in the STi taking sweeping turns and the like. I know I can go faster in the Z06, but it doesn't install the same sense of security as the STi. Quote:
The STi should trap about 102 in the quarter mile..the Z06 right around 115......that's a large difference. What people don't understand is that the gearing for the LSx cars absolute rockets in 3rd and 4th gear. I love both cars to death.

Ranger, from over at LS1tech, ran a 11.7x in his stock Z06. He also clicked off a 11.5x with sticky tires. That's not a walk...that is a serious smack. Trap speeds don't lie and are what make a difference in street races, where ET doesn't matter. There is a vast difference in a car that runs traps 102 in the quarter mile and 115 in the quarter mile. Unless you are talking about runs at high altitude where forced induction cars have a big advantage.

| Spec C Club Feedback Score: 0 reviews | No, Im probably talking about a couple morons who couldnt drive. The guy I went against from a low speed roll Im assuming couldnt hook up, cause it took a while for him to start coming up on me. The other guy was from about 75 to about 130 and his advantage looked like a walk to me. The regular c5 was much closer, but still faster. What Im thinking is, they got the same number of gears, but their top speed is like 190. If we are gear limited to say 165 and they to 190-200, Im thinking that may make up for alot of the hp difference. The 07's 4th ends at about 113 and 5th at like 139 I think. What does the C5 Z06 get to in 4th and 5th? |

| I owned an 03' ZO6 modded by Doug Rippie.. they are impossable to compaire and hate the question "what one you like better".. before my turbo swap the ZO6 was faster... it was a TON of fun on the highway. intown sucked (great for getting flashed by girls though) just becuase of the traction issue... well traction issue to about 110mph. fun for showing off. but if you want to race.? it's a matter of not beating the guy next to you. it's "how nice can my right foot be to that pedal"... you notice I am only talking about straight line butality.. that's ALL the ZO6 has on the STi IMHO. the quality is lacking, trunk space..what trunk space?, parts fall off/go bad fast!, suspension is horrable in compairison to STi, seats are cheap leather and don't hold you, I could go on and on... and in the end.. I would say go for it. lol... it's a life changing experience. you will miss your STi... but hey. if your getting road head, the arm rest is padded?! lol so when she is bending over... anywho. the Z is cramped on the inside. and if your.. 35+ in age the Z is the car to be in.. but I'm glad I went with the STi. I won't say I never looked back. but after 2 1/2 years of having the STi, I still love driving it. the vette just becomes a vette and all the vette clubs guys orderer vette things off of e-bay and try to advertise what they drive to the world. while us STi/Evo guys sit back and laugh to ourselfs.. tough call. I say do it for a year and it will be aparent to what you want in the end
