Well, UK is getting the STi officially in January. Since they got the WRX what, like 3 or 4 months before us (correct me if I'm wrong), could that mean we get the STi in like April - May? Wouldn't surprise me. Now if I could only figure out what color...love Blue, but probably gonna go with Black. Assuming the market doesn't tank tomorrow, and we go into a really bad recession.

I would more look for an STi coming no earlier than Fall 02 as a 03. Maybe April or May, that would be the best 23rd B-Day present for me...

I think the economy and what has transpired MIGHT affect the STi and if it comes- I hope not.

Remember this- War is GOOD for the economy so things may begin to look up (at least economic wise).

Hi,

I spoke with my salesman today, he told me that all he had heard from Subaru was late 2003 as a 2004...I hope he is dead wrong!

All the reputable sources (as well as some dealers :smile say the US STi will be a 2004 model. That means it should be out spring of 2003. The STX/Brat will be a 2003 model and that will be in showrooms spring 2002.

Here is my best guess when it will get here:

ASAP

If I were Subaru, who originally only wanted to sell 10,000 2002 WRX's in the US and then bumped that to 12,000 and then AGAIN to 15,000 because of such great demand, I would cash in on the demand ASAP. That means I would hustle to get past emissions, crash test, etc and get it out to dealerships ASAP.

A little birdie in March told me 18-24 months. That would now be 11-17 months, which puts it anytime between August 2002 and March 2003. If it comes in March 03, it might be a 04 model. This is a real good time frame and the one I am counting on, for now...

Next year. Ideally Spring, but, realistically, probably Fall. I honestly don't think they'll wait longer than that. Just my opinion, of course. Maybe I'm in denial , but when I hear 2004 I just don't believe it. It will be a 2003 model, arriving sometime next year, d*mnit!

This is the latest from autoweek: 2003 as a 2004 model: http://www.autoweek.com/cat_content...._code=07370487

My question is still: who is the source?
