There are quite a few rattles, and I find it to have a very sloppy gear box (don't know what it was like stock though). Also, I really do not like the seats. Not only do they not bolster you, but they are very uncomfortable IMO.

35,000 miles and I just became a member of the strut clunk club about 2 weeks ago. I'm so pissed! I thought I was going to get away with never getting it. Oh well, not the end of the world.

Seats suck.
Brake replacement is expensive (unless you go aftermarket which I suggest you do when the time comes).
Suspension is harsh compared to other cars but I like riding in a wooden roller coaster.

Other than that, I can't think of anything else.

1. Strut clunk
2. Wheel Bearings
3. 5th gear syncro
4. Brake Knockback
5. The Inability to see out of your rear view mirror cuz of the wing
6. Check Engine light and Cruise Light flashing (attributes to numerous issues)
7. Cruise Control won't stay on, especially after a short shifter or bushing install

That's all I can think of right now...... And sadly, I've been the victim of every one of those.....

Wow, gotta say that I've really only heard of the strut clunk. Which I have also been a victim of. Other than that, never heard of this list of being anyone elses common problems. The inabilty to see out of the rear window is not a common issue, it is your problem. My experience with the wing and looking out the rear mirror is not that you can't see. it's that you can't see the drivers face behind you. Other cars are not blocked.

Strut clunk is a known issue with 04-05 STI's

Well it's not really a reliability issue.. but..

No remote trunk pop (lol $33k car)
Cheap interior
Cheap leather seats
Uncomfortable seats
Oh also... my AC light flickers randomly sometimes (I have an '07 with 8k miles on it)

Strange things I have learned about my STi

and

What do you NOT like about the STi??

That should take car of pretty much all common issues.

EDIT: If you REALLY think this thread is way different than those two, PM me and I'll consider re-opening it. So far, it contains the usual laundry list of complaints.
