They are both great cars. Its just that the EVO is let down by its company and its dealership network. I did not even test drive one because of my brother's experiences owning a 3000 GT and getting it serviced at the local mitsu place. The choice to jump into an STi was even easier for me because my buddy has a wrx wagon with a turbo swap and a custom tune and a ton of suspension mods. When a good friend has a Subaru you get plenty of chances to be won over.

I was on evolutionm the other day just to see how the other side lives and I noticed how ppl complain about the way mitsu dealerships treat them about warranty issues and their Evos. They said they would void you over anything at all, even a drop in filter.

True the warranty thing can suck, but its not like you can own an STI and not have the same issue. I've seen plenty of threads on here over the years dealing with the same things. Dealer denied my warranty because of blah, blah, blah. It somewhat comes down to how well you know your stealership. My friend had an 06 Evo IX that had issues with a strut. He had plenty of mods on the car, and they didn't deny replacing it. Its not like Mitsu, or Subaru for that matter can deny any warranty claim because you put an exhaust on your car. It has to be unrelated to the mod for you to not catch any grief. Subaru is better at taking claims, but it doesn't mean that they can't deny them as well.

^I agree, just seemed like it was worse with Mitsu. Maybe I picked a bad day to look over at evom though.

Dont be so quick to judge I am a new car salesman and have been a car nut from the age of 15...and everybody at my dealership either knows everything about the car we sell and their major competitors or they are still in training and learning the cars. if fact we dont let somebody on the sales floor untill they ave passed about 40 hours of product knowledge training and tests

sounds like you guys have your ish together then. i would come from baltimore to st. peters to buy from your mitsu dealership before i ever stepped another foot in one around here.

I appreciate it but we sell hondas... my point was to not let a few dealerships that dont have formal training in place to ruin your car buying experience
