it would be cheaper to flush with distilled. However you would end up having to then flush the system again with diluted coolant to get rid of the excess distilled left in the system. Otherwise the distilled still in the system would throw off the overall concentration when you added the diluted coolant. Side note: genuine subaru coolant is 50% concentration.

CN: flush with diluted coolant or genuine subaru coolant only or diluted based on your environment/ cooling needs

Why risk an expensive engine over $20 in coolant? Most likely no W/S washer solvent was drawn into the radiator, but be safe and drain and refill the cooling system.

Moderator, can we put this out of its misery

OP, use the search, its your friend. Just so you know WW fluid is actually fine to use. But I've said that already.

Can we lock this??

Don
p.s. try dihydrogenmonoxide. its a bit pricey, but it works great.

Its pretty cool stuff. In low concentrations, you can actually drink it.

Oh wow, just realized he said COOLANT, not INTERCOOLER SPRAY.

Sorry, no, not good, please excuse my ribbing above. But it is pretty funny.

If you did it on a cold car, and didn't run it you are in NO risk of anything happening. AT ALL. No need to waste time and money on a flush.

i would flush it just to be safe. don't worry, it happens to the best of us.
i had a friend who was doing an oil change on his truck and wasn't paying attension and put a few guarts of automatic trans fiuld in there before i saw what he was doing and stopped him, saved him a little bit of trouble down the road.

Because everyone keeps harping on the new folks to search, search, search. So they do that, and then forget to check the date on the threads they're browsing before replying.

That's not the alternative, that's the reality . A few search, the rest just ask the same old questions .

Whoops, guess that was me...Missed the date
Though it is frustrating to have people jump all over mistakes-if it bothers you, why continue updating the thread. Let it die again
