Default Random call from the dealership...

So the guy who sold me my STi last year calls up and asks how I'm liking the car and so on. Then he goes, would you like to trade it in. Trade it in for what, a new 07? I was so close to saying, well since I've put well over 7k worth of mods into the car I think I'll keep it for awhile.

You'd be crazy to trade in your 05 for an 07 anways, especially with the throttle issues they are having! (Not to mention the suspension changes...ours are closer to Spec C ).

I think a lot of dealers are required to call after a year. Mine called and asked how I liked my car. Didn't ask if I wanted to trade, but I did tell him I love it.

Ha, the guy who sold me the STi sent me a Xmas card last year and told me he's now working in a VW dealership. Asked me how I was doing and how is the car.

I think mostly I'd be crazy to trade it in seeing as I have an assload of mods done to the car at this point. The '05 will be in my possesion for quite some time to come...unless the '08 STi or Evo X are just nutty.

Thats great. You def should have told him about the mods. I had a call from a dealer that I had shopped at before just following up to see if I bought an STI. They offered me a crap deal for the car/trade and I walked out. Ended up telling them what I bout the new STI for and what I got for my trade just to rub it in a little. It's quite satisfying!

Hah. It probably has to do with a short supply of used STis on the market. My GF got called by the Mazda dealer offering her great deals on trading in her Mazda 3 for a 6 and with a little prying it was because that the Mazda 3 is selling well and there is a shortage of used ones on the market where as the 6, being on the market for a while, had a surplus.
