Default My STi run off the road by truck

Please move to off topic if necessary. This car related so I posted here.

I was coming back from shooting in Zainesville on Saturday, this is rural country type area. I was driving along with three of my friends in the car. We went to a NRA range and couple of my friends are members so we are able to get to some exclusive ranges out in the sticks. Anyway I see this F-250 flying up on me. I am going about 85 and in the fast lane of a four lane road, two lanes on one side going east and two lanes going west. He pulles right up next to me a flips me off. I think that he is just joking around so I down shift and as the revs of the engine increase the driver of the truck does not just inch into my lane he tries to ram into the side of me to force me off the road. I was so shocked by his actions, this was the last thing that I expected. As he is making an agressive move obviously to try to damage my car I am able to keep the car under control half on the berm and half in the grassy median, slow down and get back on the road. This guy proceeds to blast up the highway, so I just let him go. I did not want to cause any more trouble or put anyone else in danger. I was so pissed, but relieved that no one was hurt. We stopped to check if there was any damage to the car and luckly there was none. It was also kind of lucky that there was no traffic so no one else was put in danger.

In light of these action I am going to the WRX spoiler and possibly the WRX hood scoop. After all the 06 has the smaller scoop with out performance being hurt. Just thought I would share, this is the worst thing that someone has attempted to do to me in my STi and I will be damned if I can't do something to prevent this from happening again. I am going to try to see if someone local wants a trade for the trunk and wing. Perhaps this will help lessen the "boy racer"/honda ricer image that the STi tends to project to those that just don't know. I wish that people were not so judgemental on the appearence of the STi, I would prefer to keep the car the way that it is.

1. Flipping people off isn't a joke to me personally, especially if he proceeded to try and force you off the road. I'd go 9-1-1 on something like this to be honest, that's pretty serious stuff.

2. I know ther are probably alot of thoughts running through your head because of that incident and I totally understand, but please don't swap the spoiler just because of that, you can't let peoples' actions to influence you.

My 002 cents.

Must be a Ohio thing! I was in Toledo last week and the backseat passenger in a Ford Focus flipped me off after they were able to blast ahead of me due to traffic. Kinda pissed me off at first but then I thought he didn't have a car being in the backseat of a rusty Focus.
I'm with you though....gonna rethink going wingless.... or WRX spoiler....or the new limited spoiler.

You could take a plate #and call the cops, but they wont do anything unless you want to press charges.

Had this lady cut me off at the light once. She decided she must get over a lane before the light turns green (some people...I can't figure them out...they do the most retarded things)

so I honk at her before she takes off my fender....

Light turns green, she's in front of me in her Lexus ES300. Time for the VF39 to get to work, pass her real quick and her husband flips me off. I just look at him for a second and then disappear.

I stopped flipping people off. I used to do it, but some people can't take it and that's how road rages start...I guess I'm getting too old for that kind of nonsense.

I have the plate number, one of my friends was able to get it. I could do something if I wanted and I have witnesses, so I think that I could get some charges filed aginst this guy. This would be really satisfying, but I am a little too laid back with things like these especially when no one was hurt and the car is fine.

I would definatly press charges. I am pretty laid back too, but he tried to ram you and run you of the frigging road! I wouldnt be able to just let that go.

One of the things that was running through my friends mind was to pull the back seat down and get out my Glock 30 and put a couple of wholes in this guys tires, but I told him that they don't fold down. I was pissed but not pissed enough to put a couple of hole is a truck.

Like I said before I am relieved that no one was hurt and the car is fine.

Just one in the tire would've been all you needed

Seriously though, he put your life in danger.. at that point you have every right to defend yourself.

Also reconsider changing the appearence of your car over this

This happened about 40 miles from where I live, so it is not like I will ever run into this guy ever again. We shall see tomorrow, I am going to talk to my uncle who is a detective and see what he thinks. He is usually pretty ruthless with something like this and knows all the right people downtown to make certain that this guy will be "taken care of."

I have been considering the WRX trunk swap for some time now, but really never thought seriously about it until now. I know that it will homologize that appearance and would prefer to spend the money else where, but at the same time I am getting older and while the STi is the car I want I don't necessarily want all the negative attention that the wing draws and would like to have a less overstated daily driver.

did anyone else notice that they were on their way back from a shooting range?? did you have a weapon in your sti with you?? i would have most certaintly pulled it out and made the ****er pull over and wait for the cops with my .45 shoved down his throat; after we gave him a good kicking because he "tried to run away."

Thats pretty rough man, but definitly reconsider changing your car because someone else is a f**king idiot. The STI is famous for the wing and scoop, and the people who respect the car love it. If you still can, press charges on the idiot in the truck. After trying to run your car off the road for no reason, he definitly has it coming. I'm very laid back as well, but if some one tried to put my life in danger or the life of friends/family, I'd do everything i could to see that they are punished for it.
