Default Gold BBS wheels stolen!

Hey everyone! I just thought I would let everyone know about the tradgedy that took place last night. I work for a Subaru dealership in Council Bluffs, IA and last night someone stole the gold BBSs off of our 2006 WR Blue STI. I was walking the lot doing my normal morning cigarette and coffee gig (I know, stereotypical car sales man) when I noticed that this STI was sitting on the rotors. There are scrapes on the front bumper where the criminals ripped the jack out after taking the wheels. We had just put wheel locks on the car last week. It appears they opened the car from the back as all doors were unlocked, truck was open slightly, and there were scratches on the weather stripping on the driver's side rear door. Just thought I would share this story. Keep an eye on those wheels guys, if someone will take them off of a well lit car lot, then a street or driveway would seem to be a cake walk. Happy New Year to you all! Be safe tonight!

You can get like every wheel lock made and just try and test each one...

No we had just added the wheel locks about a week ago. If you have the time, you can get these off with vise-grips. It just hurts me to see the STI in that condition. Also upon further inspection we found two bricks and the factory jack under the car. If they used that jack, it must have taken them forever to get all 4 wheels. I'm not sure how many of you have priced these wheels through Subaru, but they are ridiculous to replace. I have pictures on my cell phone, I will look for a way to get them on to my computer.

Someone here said they cost $795 each, not including the tires. My dealership quoted me ~$4K cdn for rims and tires. I managed to snag a pair of very slightly used gold BBS rims + RE070s for $1600cdn.

My dealership has also had numerous wheels stolen. They actually park their STis in the service bays at night...

And this is what I demand of my dealership each and every time that they have to keep my STi overnight....no way will I allow them to keep it outside.

My A4 had wheel locks that the tire shop couldn't crack. They said Audi has special wheel locks that only they had the key for. I had to drive all the way over to the dealership to have them taken off and then back to the tire place.

A local dealerhip had the same problem for a few weeks. Guys were hopping the back lot fence and ripping off STi wheels and customer cars (stereos, set of GT2, etc).

Yeah, my gold wheels were stolen off of my car from the dealership before I bought it (it was still new as well). The dealership replaced them with the Enkei's and Eibach springs you see in my pics.

Also, I had my trunk stolen while it was parked under a covered spot and while there were witnesses outside unloading groceries. They broke in by prying the driver's window back and then unhooked the battery to shut off the alarm, and then used some tools to steal the trunk. All this to say that if somebody wants something bad enough, they will do whatever it takes to get it.

Yup no matter what it is, if they want it bad enough they can and will steel it. Thank goodness for concealed carry.

What I find so amusing about thieves is their total lack of taste. Ever see the top 10 most stolen car lists??

If I was going to risk stealing rims, they wouldn't be crummy STi ones. I'd be looking at the $3,000-4,000 aftermarket ones. Then again, I'm not a total scumbag.

what?? They stole the trunk lid??

Moving this to STi-General, I think it would serve as a better warning over there.

Ever since picking up my '06 a couple weeks ago I've debating whether or not to get wheel locks. Should I even bother? Are there any wheel locks that are better than vice grips ?
