This might help. I noticed the problem only after I swapped in an sti gauge cluster. Never did it with my stock gauge. I have noticed I've been getting less miles to a tank lately but I think thats due to my 6 speed swap and the increasing weight of my foot after a protune.

For some reason after about 4 months of mine doing it it started working right again....and hasent acted up since

you and me both. Had the send unit replaced and I think the whole pump assembly the second time. Same problem. Whats worst is that im out of warranty already. The second time they replaced the sending unit was about 2000 miles out of my 3/36 warranty. Now, a few months later, the problem is still here and im at 40,000 . I have another appointment setup and hopefully they will do the right thing since ive been complaining about the problem since about 30k miles.

my car's been doing this for quite some time (taking a long time to get to full after gas fill up), but mine started after i had a walbro fuel pump put in. i just never got around to taking it apart and checking it.

Mine is doing this again also, I am wondering if it has something to do with cold temps, and/or winter fuel mixes? It seems like there are alot of reports of this all of a sudden with the winter season.

I would guess this is part of your problem although my experience has been its the other way around. If you have the nozzle locked wide open it might be causing the fuel to foam up some as its going in the tank. When it gets close to full the foam on top is tripping the pump to shut off before you are actually full of fuel. Just a guess

Have this problem with mine too. After reading this thread decided to fuel up with totally taking the keys out and it sort of worked. Now, it showed almost full tank instead of 3/4....so I don't know, I'll try it out next time too we'll see...stupid problem though...

I just got this same problem with my 07 sti!
I always take my keys out of the ignition

Things i did different at the pump:
Added Fuel cleaner
and I also used the slower speed setting at the pump

I hope this problem goes away
its pretty annoying for me

I am so used to filling up with extra as well..., but after seeing this post, I have decided to do a search and find this: Don't Top Off Your Gas Tank! | Mid-Atlantic Air Protection

i had that happen last time i filled up..i think the reason mine did it was cuz when i pull up to the pump the ground is kind of slanted to one side so my car leans..i filled up and the pump clicked off..got in my car and the bar never even touched the full line

you just have to take the key completely out. i noticed a pattern as well w/ radio on- 3/4 tank, care completely off- full tank
