enlighten us!
Well if im on it good ill rev to 4K and slip the clutch...this means that you let out on the clutch in a swift manner but by no means dropping the clutch instantly. You just have to get a feel for it, or have someone ride with you to show you how. Go into a empty parking lot or a nice dead road and make a few practice runs. If you do it right you wont get clutch burn and you will not bog at all.

Now 5.5K launches ive done maybe 4-5times. I smell clutch and so I dont really do it very often. Really its probably a bit faster to 60 but not by much. All this said I have a 3" cattless TBE...so my turbo starts to spool around 2500RPM.

Once, just to see what it felt like launching an all wheel drive car. I'm more into carving corners than going in straight line.

Launching an AWD car is a lot harder for me than 2WD (Front or Rear). Could be that it's turbocharged too...I bogged like mad the one time I tried it. I haven't tried since, but then again I have no reason to launch on the street

Haven't launched the car yet... I probably will someday, but I have plenty of fun with the car already in motion.

I have launched maby a dozen times all togather. At one auto-X the starting line was on a concrete pad that was on top of a 6' slope going down to the first corner. I was letting it go at 5,500 rpm and burning all four off down the slope for about 8-10 feet.
I find it tough not to let the clutch out too fast because you are beeing thrown back in your seat.

I NEVER actually physically launch hard. If Im pounding on my Sti, I all ways take it easy from that launch and mash it after that, thats enough alone to stomp 99% of the cars out there on the road.

None. I value the $31,000 I spent on my car.

as do I but the question is, how bad is it really for your car when we have people with 100+ launches and no problems? I'm not going to do it often if at all either, but it's not a bad thing to know.
