31 - Perrin Catback... that's IT. Still under warranty so I'm being cautious.

nothing personal, but it scares the hell out of me thinking about a 17 year old owning an STI....and so much for learning the value of money, cause I'm sure you can't have a job that would pay for a 35k car......

when I was 15 I bought a 73 Chevy Nova 350 w/a 350TH trans and drum brakes all the way around . It was no show car, but by the time I put in on the street a few months after turning 16 it was f***ing fast...especially by a new driver's stadards. I got into a few dicey situations, but I made it into my 20's. As far as teenage STi drivers' go, at least they have Brembos!

I was just thinking that myself. Actually - I was kind of surprised to see that there were so many young guys driving these cars. Not that I think you need to be old to do it right or to enjoy it but if I had one of these when I was 17-20 YOA I'd have been in hog heaven.

No why would I take anything personally? The reason why I have this car is because if I was able to get a big sum of the total college amount, I could pick a car. Im going to the University of Colorado, I'm paying the rest of tuition, so I think I can manage money . I doubt that you would able to tell my age bu the way I drive. I'm not a stereotypical teenager with an STi. I don't do stupid things because I have more common knowledge. Racing is for the track or safe road. Now as far as the car, I've been driving fast "cars" since I was 14. I used to drive a 1750 lbs. 450 hp buggy. This car isn't a handful compared to that beast. but thanks for your concern and if I die in a streetracing accident you can have the comfort of saying "I told you so".

I have a moddestly modified 2006 STi.

3" Invidia catless downpipe
K&N Typhoon intake
Walbro 255lb fuel pump
Used an opensource program to have my car street tuned at 20PSI.

Would have done more to the car, but I don't want to totally void my extended subaru warrenty. After the warrenty expires, I'll be looking for an engine build and a larger turbo of some sort, and of course the right supporting mods.

I also think that I'll be doing some minor suspension work to the car as well.
Just here to add some updates...

Got a new alignment, maximizing negitive camble on the front two wheels.
Just bought the V-Limited replica front lip.
Also went 3" straight pipe to replace my stock cat-back exhaust.
Upped the boost to 22 PSI (re-tuned of course).

Age: 21
Mods: bone stock. I just love the 08 STI the way it is. I might get an aftermarket catback because it's so quiet :S
