IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2007 | i drove the evo 9 before i drove an sti i liked it however i was very upset with the interior and the lack of 'creature features' the evo was serious bare bones, i kinda felt like i was driving in a suped up honda civic or some other dime a dozen import POS I test drove the 05 sti and knew right away it was better for me. I use my car as a daily driver so the DCCD, 6 CD changer, HID's adjustable lights, side airbags, shift light/sound, thermometer, stock boost guage, blah blah blah plus the interior doesnt suck balls like the evo's does |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2007 | I did not know that the Evo was the competitor to the STi and when I purchased my 07. With that being said, after owning my 07 for over 1 year, I am seriously considering an 06 Evo with a 5 speed tranny... GSR SSL or an SE(which is an MR with a 5 speed tranny). I have to say that putting up a thread like this here on IWSTI, you are getting a biased opinion and if you posted this same thread or just research it on EVOm, you will get some serious STi flaming, so if you want to know bout the EVO go to their forum and you will truely learn about that car. I have had a profile on EVOm for almost a year and I have learned quite a bit about our fellow competitor vehicle. Since everyone has their own opinions about why their STi is a better choice, you need to decide on what YOU think you like the STi over the EVO. People naturally defend the product they own. Here are some things that I like the EVO over the STi. The Evo can run way more aggresive wheel set ups than STIs with alot less hassle. I think the Evo is a better looking car, I love my STi but I have to go with the Evo on this one. The interior is nicer on 08 STis but the 07(not the Limiteds) and below is poop compared to the EVOs, sorry the blue is just not my style and it is one thing I am not a big fan of on my STi... especially when you compare it to 06 EVO interiors.... As for the trannys, the STi definitely wins it as well as their AWD systems is far superior. From what I read, the EVo motors are more reliable... especially with the 07 and 08 STI engine issues. These are just a few thing but of course alot of it is a matter of opinion. I suggest you make an account on EVOm and do some research and see what you find there... |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2008 | i would have been getting an evo if it were not for the 7k off deal subaru was offering. ive been a subaru driver since 01, and didnt want to leave, but to me the sti has been priced more than what its worth. my car stickered for 38k, and i got it for 29k. im very happy with what i paid and i feel thats what the car is worth. |

| STI Driver Feedback Score: 0 reviews | I bought my 06 sti from a mitsubishi dealer. haha. i literally parked it next to an evo 8,9, and 10 just to compare looks. the 10 was out of the question for sure. 8 and 9 evos are decent but the sti was just a beauty..and after listening to all 3 cars...sti rumble stole my heart!! |

07 and especially 06 STIs are selling for cheap... I think that for long term ownership with that 0% and at invoice... its definitely a smart and very large deciding factor to pick the STI over the new Evo | |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2006 | Just listen to this subie. I realize it is old vid and that car has changed hands and drivetrain sponsor.. But, just listen to it. Also, watch the 60ft. This car is still racing. Now in the 8's and different owner. Evos just can't 60ft like the STi. OoHhh the sound. 9 second battle...700+whp Impreza STi vs 700+whp s- Video |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2008 | The deal they gave me. Nearly 9k off MSRP and 0% financing.. couldnt pass it up. I actually like the look of the Evo X better. But I also wanted a slightly more comfortable ride for daily driving and I had good experience with subaru when I had my 02 wrx.. so i went back. If I didnt get the deal, id probably try the Evo. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2008 | interior, drivetrain, torque, hatch, all around amazing car. evo was a choice definetly...the only thing I really love about them is their exterior look. I think the white "storm trooper" look is so clean and aggresive. But that was about all it did for me and now I am very happy with the 4cylinder AWD power house that I have! |
