IWSTI Addict since: May 2008 | I wanted an Impreza/WRX since 1998. I could never afford one. When I could finally afford one I got the STi. I love $$$$$ Last edited by heretichexen; 01-21-2009 at 05:33 PM.. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2006 | I bought my first WRX before Evo's were sold in the US. I loved it, and got a 2nd WRX at a great price due to Subaru's Guaranteed Trade program. Loved the 2nd WRX even more, as it had heated seats, mirrors, wipers, and a sunroof. When Subaru offered me the Guaranteed Trade Program again, I never even considered an Evo, I bought my Limited. All of these have been daily drivers, and have been fun and entertaining to drive. With a total of over 115000 miles on these cars, I only have needed 1 warranty repair. IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2007 | In 2004: 1) Evo had poor low and midrange power. Higher revs needed for normal traffic starts caused faster clutch wear (my STi rolls off the line without any throttle). 2) Evo's hideous boy-racer styling (the current model looks good). 3) Mitsubishi was in serious financial trouble. 4) Comparison road tests indicated that the STi's only track deficiency was excessive body roll. Stiff bars (Cobb) transformed my car into a sports car. Five years later,I know that I made the right choice. Absolutely no regrets. |

| STI Driver Feedback Score: 2 reviews | 2 things: 1. Interior materials quality, especially the plastics, are poor on the Evo X. 2. Subaru's reputation for safety. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2009 | I was set to buy the EVO X after test driving the car in Germany but after driving the USDM EVO X I could not believe how different the car felt. The transmission grinds from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd, the smell of burned clutch is everywhere in the car and the horrible tune makes the car feel really slow. After test driving a few other EVO X at other dealerships I realised that absolutely ALL of them have these problems and since Mitsubishi dealeships have the worst reputation I imagined that it will cost me a fortune to keep the car running. That's the reason for which I settled for an STI instead of the EVO, though I would have definetely prefered the EVO if not for those problems. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2004 | In 03 I took my moms Outback to the dealer for something and fell in love with a black STI on the lot. In 04 I bought one, it was a toss up on color and I ended up with WRB instead. I never even considered an evo. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2007 | I picked mine for a few reasons. One is I've wanted one for over 4 years ever since I had a WRX wagon. Second, I love the sound of the Subarus as well. Also, reliability is a reason. I always had good luck with my wagon and knew countless people that had good luck with Subarus. Not to take anything away from the Evo for reliability. Anything you rip on or dont keep stock can have problems. I still think Evo's are sweet too, just liked the STI better. |
