no mitsu dealer wouldnt let me test drive the evo. than same went to a subie dealer test drove it fell inlove and got my 06.

may i ask how the hell your friend mess up his 07 tranny.

There was a bunch of reasons for me..

Subaru's AWD is incomparably better then Mitsu's FWD setup, not a fan of torque steer or transfer cases.

The STi's drivetrain isn't even in the same category as the Evo's, I'd compare the Evo's to the WRX's drivetrain, it's not nearly stout enough to be compared to the STi's

I prefer the STi's torque split and DCCD system

The Impreza GD chassis is ranked as one of the most reliable on the market, not to mention it is insanely rugged.

The STi has a much more linear power band whereas the Evo's hits you all at once, smoother is better imo, plus the low end torque sure is nice

Of course if you going to do continues hard launches in your sti. you are bound to have a tranny problems. hard launches can beat a drivetrain till death.
