IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2008 | I put money down on an EVO and was #4 on a list of 40 for when they came in. They arrived and mentioned the $5,000 market adjustment and laughed while they gave me my money back. I still like both cars but the $8,000 off and 0% sealed the deal for me, wasn't even looking for a car at the time. Still feel Subaru is a far better company than Mitsubishi and the STi is a better daily driver than the EVO, which is what I'm looking for. I will autocross the STi next year a lot, for fun and not nationals trophies. It won't seen any track time for a couple years. No mods for a year or so. The hatch is small but the practicality of the hatch and folding rear seats is nice. Bulllet proof tranny is great. Plus the WTF is that factor is cool, not a very common car in my area. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2006 | 06 sti here Why? Because I don't autoX or track so I wanted the better daily driver between the 2 cars. The responsive steering of the evo gets tiresome on highways with rough roads after a long day's of work. So to sum it up, I picked the sti over the evo IX for the boxer rumble, low end torque, cruise control, reliability, and side airbags. I do like the evo's exterior and can live with the interior. And the solid 4g63 plus bigger turbo and FMIC equals larger power gains with less money. BUT I only have one car and so I'm stuck if my only car is in the shop for clutch issues or transmissions problems. Since i dont have a beater car, I went with the sti for a solid daily driver. IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2008 | STi has more character as a car. I will concede hands down that evo can generate more power w.r.t mods and dollar for dollar, but there's so much more to cars than just power. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2008 | Needed a daily driver. Needed some comfort and better daily driveability. STi had that over the Evo so STi it was...plus it was bit cheaper than the '07 Evo MR... Very happy with my choice!! (except for the stupid MY07 stock ECU issues) |

IWSTI Addict since: Jan 2008 | It's a hard choice between the two. That was my problem so I bought both! 07 UGM LTD and 06 GG MR and they are both GREAT car's. The STI is more of a DD but the EVO's front seat's (in my opinion) are more comfortable and hold you better in turns.Last edited by LISTI; 12-30-2008 at 07:19 PM.. |
