IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2007 | At the time they didn't sell evos in canada, pretty easy choice. Now that they started selling the evo X here i'd still pick the sti. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2008 | ok well i dont have an STi, i have the lil' brother car lol. but as far what to pick from my choice was always the STi because i believe it just has much more character than the Evo. the appearance, the stance, the body panels, the boxer growl ( the rally heritage and AWD dominance they're known for) - all winners for me. i badly wanted an STi, hell just a wrx ever since i saw the first commercial for one back in 01' (i was 16 at the time haha). i could have purchased an STi vs. my car now but at the time my car just fit the budget better. as far as Evo's go, they are amazing cars for what they are (like STi's are ). but i couldnt see myself owning one. not like i hate them or anything, i like them (have a handful of friends who own one/have owned one) but they are not my style. they have tranny issues, cheap interiors, OEM clutches suck, and from what i have seen heard of, can have ABS failures as well. but they are bad _ss looking cars. i like the older Evos that never hit the states (IV, V, VI models). the Evo X is starting to grow on me a lil bit too, but IMO that car looks like s@$# unless it is lowered, with aftermarket wheels on it. the OEM wheels (minus the BBS wheels that come with the MR) look like crap to me.they can make a boatload of power. thats their biggest selling point IMO. but that always comes with a big price. but hey i have what i want, i dont ever see myself going to the 3 diamonds again (had a 3rd gen eclipse before my current car) anytime soon. |

| Professional STI Driver Feedback Score: 6 reviews | AT first i was trying to find white EVO 9 MR or white STI limited, couldn't find anything so went and bought ugm limited because i already had some parts from old wrx and it was very good deal. But overall i should of bought EVO cheaper power and handling amazing. |

IWSTI Addict since: May 2008 | A co-worker has an '08 EVO. He loves it. I looked at it, but it just didn't do it for me. Once I drove the STi, I knew. I've had other cars with the ususal engine configurations (I4, V6, V8). I like the sound of the flat 4, and that rumble. I will keep it (until they put a proper manual transmission in the GT-R, then I may have to say bye bye, lol). I also like the overall fit and finish of the car. The interior is nice, I got all the goodies, nav, bbs, etc. It's a car that I love driving everyday, and that's truly what it's all about. Last edited by B_K; 12-19-2008 at 11:27 AM.. |

IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2008 | i think the subies handle just as good IMO. maybe the understeer could be improved a bit but hey i think the subies are more of a drivers car. the Evo has too many driver aids. just look at the spec sheet of a Evo X...............geez. and folks wonder why it costs more than the average 08 STi |
