Boxer sounds better IMO. Side airbags are nice too. My first WRX also saved my life, drove it off of a cliff when I was 17. It's been a long time coming, but stepping up to an STi and rejoining the family felt like the better thing to do.
Exactly the Evo was always my dream car. I wanted a AWD car just bec. I love them. Then about two years before I could afford it, I realized it wasn't all I wanted and I didn't even know the STi existed at the time until someone told me. I then realized the STi was what I wanted and fell in love with the sound and beastly look.

Thank you very much! People go over countless hours of fighting over this both cars are amazing just some have better perks and some slack major perks, like the evo take it the 2.0l mivec engine is bad to the bone fact of the matter is it takes less money to make the evo go faster and this reason appeals to many of the buyers but i do have to agree with some statements the evo imo does not sound anywhere near as good as an STi hands down, the evos interior is pretty cheesy BUT those recaro seats only could probailly sell me on it. You cant really say anything bad about each car its just the driver both cars were beautifully engineeried, a bunch of my buddies have evos from completely stock to fully built 2.3l strokers with gt35rs and i like them im not going to lie but in the end i own my subaru and imo made the right choice cause i wouldnt trade it for an evo anyday.

evo is a pizza delivery kids car.. lol jk.

i picked the sti because it felt more.. 'not cheap' inside. the evos interior is cheap imo. also, the whole RELIABILITY factor.. the suby community is wayy cooler imo also. plus i love the boxer rumble :P

Evo is nice inside but I think Subaru's AWD is better, the Interior is nicer (apart from the seats) and the overall quality just felt better. Also the MR only comes in a paddle shifter. If it came in a 6 speed manual I would have looked at it alot closer.

I disagree, the STI has a boxer engine, 2.5l displacement and takes a lot less boost to get the same HP. Evo runs 19lb of boost stock, STI runs 14.5lb of boost stock. And the STI still has more WHP stock The EVO does not produce the same torque mod-for-mod that the STI does and in an AWD world torque is king.

Initially I bought my STI because I couldn't find an Evo. I had driven my friends and of course it was leaps and bounds more awesome then my Ion Redline. My Redline was a factory turd so I was looking to trade it in for a Cobalt SS because my warranty was up and I wanted an actual NEW car.

After a test drive I decided that the SS wasn't nice enough to get a higher longer car payment so I decided to go home. The salesman asked me what he'd have to do to get me to buy, and I told him to turn that SS into an Evo. He said "Sorry bro I don't have any... But I do have an STI..."

He brought the STI over from another dealer and I totally fell in love. It fet better to me in every way then my friends Evo. Coming from a supercharged car, I didn't like the lack of low end grunt in the Evo. First gear in the STI is downright scary the first time. Other then the recaros the interior wasn't very nice and my biggest gripe is the pedals! No matter how I adjusted that seat I felt like I was pushing the pedals with my toes. They felt so low and so crammed together.

One main thing that got me going for the 08 STI, was the interior in general. After checking the Evos interior out, i didnt feel it was fit enough for my tastes. But one thing i do think about is, for some reason the EVOs body is growing on me. And i wonder if i should of got that instead. But then if i had the Evo.. i probably would reconsider and want the STI because of the Interior. Also the transmission i hear is rock solid compared to that of the evos... As i see it the Pros of the STI out weigh the Pros of the EVO.
