| Junior STI Driver Feedback Score: 0 reviews | Honestly I've always liked the 08 STI ever since I saw the first one at a track event earlier this year. However I never thought I'd actually buy one. When the Evo X came out I had a feeling I'd buy one so I went to go test drive one but discovered I couldn't which left me a bit depressed. Then a silver Evo X GS-R showed up at the CARMAX down the street from me which I jumped on the opportunity to drive. I loved the aggressive styling from the front and rear but wasn't so sure of the side profile. It was also a very big looking car compared to the previous generations, and a tank compared to the GR STI. Back to the test drive. I really, really wanted to love driving the Evo X but I did not. It felt pretty poor on power, having to really wind it out to get it going. My biggest gripe with the Evo X however was the seats. Sure, they're Recaro's but they did not fit me! The problem was that the seat cushion was so long that I couldn't bend my knees to get a proper driving position. Visibility when driving didn't seem very good either. I went back and test drove this same Evo X two times again afterward days later. I tried everything I could to find a comfortable driving position but netted nothing but fail. A few weeks later my buddy and I went over to Stohlman Mitsubishi to check out the MR's and the Ralli-Arts(which have the SST transmission). This is when the said they had 0% on their Evo X GS-R's and man I had the itch for a new car. I sat in another GS-R and MR and looked briefly at the Ralliart model. Next door was their Subaru dealer so we took a stroll over there to see if they had any STI's. And yes, there it was - a white 08 with BBS wheels, fogs and nav. Upon first sitting in the car I knew this was it. The STI fit like a glove. Test drive time. Loved the sound, great torque, loved the 6-speed transmission. The seats were just right, the suspension wasn't too soft and not too harsh. I now have 3000 miles on the car in less than 30 days. I think my warranty may be up within the first year. Haha. |

IWSTI Addict since: Mar 2008 | Honestly, I like the Sti, better obviously each car has its pro and cons Ive personally never driven an sti nor an evo. so i couldn't tell you anything drive propestive, Id love to drive one if I got hands on one, from my understanding the 07's have piston slap correct me if I am wrong, I think that's would really be my only down fall, SOA has had great reptuation, the customer service is great. |

IWSTI Addict since: Feb 2008 | I think theres really a few different types of people when it comes to the evo or sti: 1. People that are completely biased towards STi's 2. People that are completely biased towards Evo's 3. People who respect both cars and would take either but a few things one car has made them decide on that one over the other. (driving feel, interior, safety, etc.) Though it seems there is quite a few more #2's then anyone else lol. Last edited by Toofast22; 12-16-2008 at 08:20 AM.. |

| Junior STI Driver Feedback Score: 0 reviews | Why did I buy an STi? Cause of EVO owners like this clown. -J (note: love the Evo's look and performance, just felt more in-tune with the Subaru after several test drives in both vehicles. The Evo was great, but just didn't feel like the Sti.) Last edited by obpsti2006; 12-16-2008 at 08:31 AM.. Reason: Needed coffee before posting... had Coffee...fixed post. |

IWSTI Addict since: Nov 2008 | evo front end looks good. but the tail looks bad compared the front. at least the STI looks decent all around. sti = boxer engine = nice sound evo does have better race seats. rear seats on the sti seem better though, small points for that. maybe the evo i sat in, was owned by a "big" family, so their thighs worn out the back seat haha i love the look of the sti hood scoop. IWSTI Addict since: Dec 2005 | If you went through 909Evo MR's posts in this thread and swapped out the word Evo with STi it would be right inline with what most of the people in this thread are saying. But Since this is a subaru site no one would care about the obvious bias. This thread started out good for the first few pages but went to sh*t after that. |

| Junior STI Driver Feedback Score: 2 reviews | I personally think the Evo 9 is a better looking car than my 07 STi from the exterior, however the interior is night and day in Scooby's favor. To be honest I was set on wanting an Evo for about 2 years leading up to when I got my car. It wasn't until a week before purchasing the STi that my brother changed my mind...I just couldn't get the same name on the back of my car that I have on the front of my TV, haha |
