Default I can't seem to get any good deals

I have been looking at STIs for the past couple weeks, and it seems as if dealers are not willing to deal. They are all looking for top dollar. Heres what i am looking at:

1. 2006 WRX Sti 13,500 miles - Asking $28,988 (going to see tomorrow)

2. 2005 WRX Sti 23,000 miles - Asking $27,995 (going to see tomorrow)

3. 2005 WRX Sti 14,500 miles - Asking $26,995 (willing to go $26,000)

4. 2005 WRX Sti 35,000 miles - Asking $24,995 (not willing to go any lower)

I also looked at a couple other STIs but they were 2004s and higher miles around 40,000 miles and one was going for $22K and the other for $23K but they had some dings scuffs scratches and some imperfections nothing major but still visible.

So my question is what should i be expecting to pay for these cars that i listed up top. It seems as if the dealers are not willing to really negotiate prices. Edmunds TMV (true market value) is lower than all what the dealers are willing to do. What would you all be willing to pay or what should i pay. Thanks for all your help in advance.

I live in Conshohocken and have had the same issue. They are still a fairly hot car around here. I was offered some great deals on 2008 models, but 2004-2007 deals have been hard to come by. I had an OK deal on a 2005 model at a dealership, but I let it go - it just seemed too pricey. 2 days later, an emplyee at the local exlectronics store was driving it. It was on the lot about 5 days total. I guess it doesn;t help that I am fairly frugal and will only buy if it makes financial sense to me.

Good luck in your search.

I would rather purchase from the stealership so that i can get a warranty and some sort of guarantee. I have thought of purchasing from private sellers but i have a trade that i would like to get rid of as well and i still am making payments on that car, so a dealership would really work best for me.

Thanks i wish you good luck as well. But some of the cars i was looking at have been available for weeks. Yes i agree they are still a hot item around here, and i went through the same thing, dealers gave great rates on 2008s but no deals on the 04-07. I do not really have much time either i need to make a purchase within the next couple weeks. I have found a couple good deals but up in new york area and that is kind of a long drive.

I sw the ones at Rafferty and Concordville. Go in and deal hard - they may bend a bit. It has been a tough market to sell and they may be sensing desperation.

Make em work for you!

Yes those are two that i am considering but the prices seem a awfuly high as you probably saw as well. I really dont know what to do. Everytime i go in and deal hard with them they seem to just say that there are not many STIs around and that they know that they can sell them close to what they are asking for them. I even throw in that cars have not been selling and the awful state of the economy and they insist that they are selling cars. I really want an STI but i do not want to get ripped off.

Yes i know, but i here that 2005 MY is kind of the like the Halo year for the STI. As raw as the 2004 with the kinks worked out and improvements over the 2004. I heard the 2006 is a bit softer in comparison. I personally like both body styles very much, but i like the 2004 - 2005 look a little more.

just be patient check em out, if you think your getting a good deal then by all means go for it. jus remember you dont have to tell anybody what you bought the car for

but imo those prices do seem a tad high, alot more than what i bought my 04 for

dealer prices are always quite a bit higher and they will most likely low ball you for your trade-in. i got my '05 used from a private seller back in jan of '07 and have no regrets and no problems so far. remember your general warranty is good for 36k miles and your drivetrain warranty is good for 60k no matter know owned it before. i know what your sayin about how the stealership is nice for you cause it can all be taken care of at once at the same place, but you might end up paying more. i'd say look into private party or just shop around some more. good luck

333333!! An 05 (best year imo) with only 14.5k on it is a great find. Mabey play a little hard ball? Offer a check for 24k, take it or leave it.
