Default Need help determing valuation on a potential car

Hi Everyone,
What do you think a car like this is worth? FS: IL, IN - 2005 Black OBP STi 36,xxx miles with Volks - NASIOC

How much are the stock parts worth, if anything? What about rash on the wheels. I treat my stuff really well but don't mind used. I was thinking around $20,000 but maybe that's to high? How wary should I be of the mods? Are these common mods? I know that 2005 was supposed to be one of the best years for the 04-07 range.
Thanks!
Eric

Well, here is how I go about it.

Punched it in Kbb.com.

Excellent = 24,000

Good = 22,735

Very few cars qualify for the excellent but may be higher than good.

So I average both and that comes out to 23,367.

If the car is in good mechanical condition, no accidents etc. 23,367 would be a good asking price for it, especially that this body style isn't made anymore, at least for now.

Yeah, it needs cleaned up, but that really shows how well the dude took care of the car If the engine bay looks like that, how well did he keep up with maint, etc. You will never find my cars looking like that!

Good luck,

Matt

I've never cleaned my engine bay. The car runs fine and is maintained.

it's not just dirt, look closer at the rust that's what happens when you don't take care of it.
i have 43,500 miles and no rust whatsoever..i think the buyer would appreciate that when buying a used car.

Ask for KBB Good, and see if you get any offers. Also, giving her a wash and a wax always helps out a sale. Good luck.

Guys, the OP is asking about buying it, not selling it.

I do spy rust as well. Hmm, could be just surface imperfections....

...or signs of neglect, abuse, and underlying disease.

Good for you! But I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole It just shows one sign on how someone takes care of there car. Come on, how hard is it to wipe down the engine bay after you wash your car! That's if to say that the person even washed the car more than once a month. You can tell a lot by the way a persons house is kept up, or the inside and outside of the car looks.

Make all the generalizations and judgments you want. Just because a motor is clean does not mean it is in good condition. Similarly, a dirty motor does not mean the car is abused. An engine can get that dirty in a week of driving where I live.

Your inability to separate cleanliness from functionality is truly mind-blowing.
