I can understand you're anal about you're car, but if you care so much as to complaine about some bent intercoolerfins on the internet you should be doing you're own oil changes.

And thats absolutely rude to title you're thread $^#$%# subaru techs. The guys are doing their jobs getting underpaid, just to satisfy "you" in the end. So my opinon would be to take a hands on approch and do you're service you're self. Is this what you should expect when buying a 45k car?(lol at price) no, but no single person or company is perfect. And you can't blame one incident as a generalization of subaru techs, thats just dumb.

The best advice I can give is buy you're self a fumoto valve for 22 bucks, and change you're own oil with the flick of a switch. No worring about "subaru techs" and scratching you're baby. Because when it all comes down to it, it's just a car man. The techs understand this, but alot of times people think "their" car deserves special treatment an such. It "WILL" get a few scratches, it "WILL" get some lube in the engine bay, and it "will" get a few smudges in the car. But SO WHAT MAN, this isnt NASA. certain things have to be overlooked to get a job done.

From a auto tech to a consumer, GET OVER IT! If you don't want scratches and smudges, do the work you're self. Other wise you won't get very far. My $00.02...Hope you can understand..

I can't believe the mechanic is even being defended here..... If I took my car in for waranty repair, and there was oil on the seat, scratched side skirts, bent rad fins etc. I wouldn't have even picked it up. The grease on the seats alone would have caused me to get the service manager. Yes it's a car and yes getting damaged will happen, but having an inconsiderate moron damage it because he didn't feel like taking the proper steps to avoid it is bull. I can't believe that A) you left with the car after all this and B) you actually fixed some of this stuff yourself.

Oh, and the argument about being underpaid makes it ok.... Wow that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. I get underpaid at what I do, but that doesn't mean I'm going to do my work half ass. It just means I should be looking elsewhere for work.
