Default I FOUND A STI!!!! IS this a good deal?

SO I found a sti and im going to go look at it tommorrow tell me if this is a good deal or what I should offer the guy.

40 year old owner.
Original owner, bought it at the dealership where he works.
11K miles
2007
Urban grey on silver BBS
100% stock
Asking $28K
Good deal? or what should I offer him??

Will it run good and safe after a stage 1 flash with a accessport??

Also do 07 STi's have a black box for the ecu?? so if it gets flashed stage 1 or 2 and then flashed back to stock it keeps memory of it??

Good price - go for 26K and see if he will negogiate. But seriously, with 11k miles and completely stock, I would say its a good deal. Think that loaded 08's are going for 8-10K more than that.

Accessports are great. A stage 1 on a stock car would be awesome and you will enjoy it. The accessport also downloads the stock map and will reload it when you want to flash back to stock. Get an AP v2 with the car and be very happy

As per all 07 STI owners, the stock tune is crappy. So, Cobb AP Stg 1 is the best solution for that. As per the black box on ECU, i think you're refering, if the dealer can see if you reflashed the ecu... i believe they can, if they checksum the ecu.
If you can get it for 26-27K, you should close the deal. Goodluck.

Yea but if they can see it on a 07 and cant on a 06 then I wont buy it cause I dont want to reflash the ecu and lose warrenty.

As long as your AP does not affect/cause the issues on your vehicle, they cannot void your warranty. If a failed part in the vehicle is caused or due to aftermarket performance upgrade, the claim is not covered by SOA. Costumer will have to cover the expenses of the failed part and labor.

make sure you go to a mod friendly dealer, most sell AP and have little hesitation about warrenty work afterward. key word here is most, its a risk your going to have to take.

It should !

Yeah, but only a Suby tech has a device to read it. I wouldn't worry about it !

The problem with relying on Mag Moss is that its really easy for a dealer to say x after market part or your driving abuse led to the part breaking. Dealers do it all the time. And they do it because they know the costs and hassle of litigation make enforcing your rights unpalatable. Its why Mitsubishi gets away with rarely warranting anyone's evo, why BMW rarely ever warrants a failed turbo on cars that have mods. They know you won't sue. Well, I would, but most people wont.

Don't be so picky!! If you feel that way buy a 08.
Once you have the car you will have to mod it. The car is meant to be driven hard and modified. Most people on here love to go to stage two. I am at stage one now and plan on going to stage two.

But as far as Deals on Used STI's go, 28K is a decent price, bargaining down from there is obviously better. In this economy, you might find more bargaining leverage then normal.
