Default Buying new 07 STI..

So amazingly I have found a virgin 07 STI with 30 miles on it. Dealer said theyd give me 14k for my wrx but still wants 22k OTD. Does this sound high to you? It definitely sounds high to me. I offered them 19k OTD but they wouldnt take it. I'd like to hear your opinions.

i don't think that's too unreasonable actually. Including his 14k trade, that makes a year old model $33,000 OTD. That's about what I paid for mine brand new last year.

I paid $30k for my '07 and it had 6k miles on it. I also knew the problems w/the '07 and it didn't bother me. I knew warranty would cover any problems.

Even at 30 miles, ask them to do a compression test and leak down to be sure. Then get some sort of engine management.

I've had my car for 5 months and it just turn 9500 miles. So far so good, zero problems except for the cops liking to pull me over for no reason.

How many '07 motors have gone down vs. how many were sold? Not many.

Remember that must of the neg stuff you have read or heard about are by guys that put a cat back and dp on their cars with out any EM. I say just buy a Cobb AP, or get it tuned by a good shop, and enjoy the last great Subie body style(IMHO) Do some research here on this forum, and you will find many happy 07 owners with both stock tune, and with a AP, etc, with no problems at all. A FYI, I am one of them with 5000 miles and my car is running like a champ.

Good luck,

Matt
