I get yelled at on occasion. I don't have the huge wing and scoop like most you guys do, but I do have a 3" catless DP and it's a bit noisy. Usually it's 20 mph through a neighbor hood that my friend lives in and these parents are effing insane! They cone off the coldesac (which I live in) so their kids can ride bikes. If their kids aren't smart enough to avoid cars going 20 mph on open neighborhood roads...then...wow.

In my old S10 (lol), I had an old guy come running out of his garage with a hoe in his hand yelling and cursing cause he thought I was driving too fast.

Surprisingly, I havent had problems in my car. Helps not to have the bench.

Seriously! The exhaust did make a baby in a stroller cry once.

As for my car, it gets the looks a lot. It didn't help when I had the Nur Spec on it either, people hated that thing. The other thing I get frowned at for is the Tire Rack banner on the front windshield for autocrossing.

I've had people behind meat a light though that are like 2 car lengths away like their scared or something. Most people don't wanna be even with me at a light unless its a sports car.

Its kinda' funny. I am that guy on both sides of the coin here.

I dont speed around in neighborhoods at all. I get flipped off and mad-dogged by soccer-moms constantly in STI. Its especially fun when I pick up my kid from school. The principal just stares me down until I get out and she realizes i am a volunteer at teh school and a Cub Scout leader for teh troop there...
Get me on the farm roads and its on all day long.

I actually paid out-of-pocket to have proper DOT, reflective signs made for each end of my street that say "SLOW CHILDREN AT PLAY". On the back they say," City of Tracy. If you have a problem with my signs, call this number ***-****." I hung the signs on the light poles at the proper height to be seen as you turn our corners.

I put a cone in the street when my kid and the neighbor kids are out playing and riding skateboards. There is usually a jump-ramp in the street too. Of course, I am usually out there wrenching or skating also.

I made the paper last year for swinging a baseball bat at a car-load of spolied-suburban-gangster wanna-be's getting "all-hyphee" on my street. They had almost run one of the kids down doing 60mph with all four doors wide open on mommy's SUV. When they stopped to beat me down, they gave up when I charged their truck with the bat again and took off.

When the cops arrived. (The gangsters called the cops, how ironic...) I had half my neighborhood out there backing me up in my actions. (Mind you, these are PTA Board Members and Cub Scout Leaders, and one is a bioterrorism-scientist...) The cop backed me up also after speaking to all involved and stated he was moving back to Texas asap...LOL

And yet, I turn the corner in the STI and this old guy that lives there always tries to spray my car with his hose as he is yelling "Slow down punk!". And I am thinking, 'Dude, I am 35 with my 9 year-old in the car...geez.." (The same old-dude that thumbs-ups my SRT-8...go figure)

Soccer-moms at the school stare at me in disgust constantly.

Someday soon, I will be that old dude

haha this thread is like pin point accurate haha..

soo im driving through like a park/school area where a bunch of people always park there cars and go on bike rides and go for walks because it is in a canyon area, and i come around the corner and these two moms and a couple of kids are crossing the street no joke maybe 200 yards away and the moms freak out sprint to grab there kids and run to other side of the road, and they could have done it 3 more times before i reached them because i was going slow haha. and of course as soon as i was passing them going 8mph they starred me down and had this utmost look of disgust on there face and i just smiled at them and shrugged my shoulders because they are CRAZY...haha anyways, i get all day long in suburbia.

LOL you guys wanna hear a story? My neighbors hate my car so much that they blamed me for the death of their dog. Their dog was run over on the street in my neighborhood and they said it was me because my car is loud and sounds like I race through the neighborhood. After this story got out, the High school kids in my neighbor hood started spreading stories that I got my front lip to cover up the damage to my front bumper when I hit the dog. All this because I have a 3" TBE lol.
