Default Pricing of 06 STI

I have a stupid question. i recently checked Edmunds.com and KBB.com the value of 06 sti with around 35k miles for around $20k trade in and $23k private, and i been shopping aorund for a 06. all i see is around 26-30k, with that price should i just get a 08? cuz i have a quote from a autobroker. he told me that i can get it for around 34k + Tax. what you guys think? but i really like the look of 06 07, but the price is kind of unresonable. so i just wait untill someone will sell their car at that value or just get a 08? Also Edmunds and KBB price is not the true value?

Edmunds used Subaru Impreza WRX STi car appraisal. Used Subaru car pricing. here is the link from edmunds.com
and here is the like from kbb
http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/PricingReport.aspx?YearId=2006&Mileage=35000&Vehic leClass=UsedCar&ManufacturerId=47&ModelId=270&Pric eType=Private+Party&VehicleId=1493&SelectionHistor y=1493%7c25561%7c91789%7c0%7c0%7c&Condition=Good&Q uizConditions

please help....and will any one want to trade their 06 sti for my 03 infiniti fx45?

I'd test drive them first cause last time I test drove the 08 I almost traded in my 07 for it. For me 08 took a little getting used to but after the price they gave me for my 07 I decided that I could just built a motor for the price difference if my motor ever blows. Oh and the 08's ride like a Cadillac compared to my car everything is so much softer including the suspensions.

Also what you might be seeing is some of the unofficial "markup"...STi's are "rare" to begin with, the 06/07 are the last of that particular body style, and the 06 doesn't have the stock mapping issues plaguing the 07s (mine included!). Just a thought...

Edmunds doesn't set the price for used cars, they try and ascertain the value. The price is whatever the market will bear. Keep looking. You should be able to find the one you're looking for. Expand your search a little, and sell the FX. That's going to be a little more difficult given the economy, but be patient.

i only know that most dealer will go for KBB trade in and take about 1-2k off that price. When i have my 04 i have a quote from Carmax. And all people said that Carmax give the best price for used car. My quote from them are $14500 "I"M LIKE WTF" after that i know they will go lower than trade in. after all, i sold my car between trade in and private. because my broker friend told me that between trade in and private is the most reasonable for used car. therefore, i'm aiming for that price right now. which mean 23-24. but i know that no STI seller will sell their 06 for that price. that why i'm waiting. Another reason i'm looking for that low is because a brand new 08 is only around 34k. if i spend that much already, how come i'm not getting a new one "this question already in my head all the time." but 06 is my favor model and it is the most sexy model. haha that why i'm still waiting.
