Default Help me spend my tax return...

OK, so I need some advice. I got back about $1,500, I don't want to spend all of it, but most of it. Here's what I'm thinking:

Option A:
Stance coilovers - $1,179

Option B:
Crawford A/O Separator $300
Cusco engine + tranny mounts $250
+...... suggestions??

Option C (while keeping stock springs and struts):
Front and rear sways
Rear strut bar
Engine + tranny mounts
Endlinks
Misc suspension stuff

I just got a Stage 2+ protune so I'm happy with my power for now, but I was thinking the A/O separator to help reduce oil consumption/safety measure although switching to a heavier oil seems to do the same for some. The engine + tranny mounts are something I like to do to all my cars so I'd get them eventually anyway. Give me some ideas!!

there's a lot you can do with that amount.

I would focus on either engine or suspension/driveline.

What are your goals for the car? Do you plan on autox, road racing, drag, or just DD?

Do you have any other options? I'm not feeling either of those. Cheap coilovers=save your money for real ones. AO seperator and mounts=why? I'd say $1500 could hook you up with a nice spring / sway combo and leave you some change.

Well, I'm pretty content with my engine power wise for now, plus I don't want to spend the $$ for another protune so soon after my first one if I decided to go with a EWG and headers like I plan to eventually.

I'm pretty sure the suspension/driveline is where the money is going to go. The car will ultimately be 65/35 DD to track (not a drag car).

I'm pretty open, those are just what I've been kicking around as ideas. The Stance's are cheap quality? AO separator because it seems like good insurance, although not essential. Just something I kinda like the idea of. Motor/tranny mounts, I like the improved connection over the stockers.

I was thinking springs/sways, but I don't know how I feel about going with springs on stock struts if I have the means to go with coilovers.

I shouldn't bash the stance coilovers. They may be perfectly fine for your uses. I have just read over and over that if you are getting coilovers, save up for the high end ones, because they are worth it. Out of your original choices I vote for the stances, I think you will enjoy coilovers waaaaay more than an AO seperator.

I really want the Cusco Zero 2R's, but they're 2k+ and they may very well be overkill for me. The cars basically a grocery getter and weekend twisty/occasional track day car. I live like 6 blocks from my job so I take my bike (cycle) to work.

Kartboy outrigger & rear diff bushings, TIC tranny bushings - $125

Cusco Mounts - $300

Sway bars, larger rear sway mount & endlinks - under $600

CL X-brace - $450

$25 bucks left for a couple burgers and a 12 pack.

Ok so I guess this is the list:

• Cusco front & rear sways.
• Kartboy front endlinks and Perrin rear endlinks.
• CL Development x-brace.
• Perrin stout mounts.
• Cusco engine & tranny mounts.
• TiC Klunk Killer rear race.

Looks good?

Getting there, but this would be money better spent:
  • cusco front and rear sways 24mm $400
  • ONLY kartboy endlinks $90
  • X-brace $? hear lots of good reviews on it.
  • Whiteline sterring rack bushing $40
  • Whiteline ALK $190
  • RCE Lowering Camber plates $400
  • TiC bushings any and all bushings you can get in your budget, but I'd go with the shifter bushings first.

KB endlinks are generally $100 for a pair; you'd need 2 pairs total. $200.

  • ONLY kartboy endlinks $90 Are the Perrin rears bad? I could sell them since they're in good condition.
  • X-brace $? hear lots of good reviews on it. $450 But, I heard it works much better than the Cusco V Brace.
  • Whiteline sterring rack bushing $40 I heard since my car has about 5k on it the stockers haven't softened up enough to feel any benefit. True?
  • Whiteline ALK $190 I'll look into this.
  • RCE Lowering Camber plates $400 Should I bother since coilovers are in my future with f&r camber plates?
  • TiC bushings any and all bushings you can get in your budget, but I'd go with the shifter bushings first. I have the Kartboy f&r shifter bushings already installed which is why I was going with the Klunk Killer set.
Thanks for the advice, keep it coming.

Yeah the steering rack bushings are one of the best bang for the buck mods out there. I put mine on when I had about 3,000 miles and it mad a huge difference in steering feel. I guess if your getting coilovers and plates you could get buy with just getting camber bolts for now. The main point there is to just get more camber in the front by some means. I don't know much about the perrin endlinks. If you've gottem roll with it, but the kartboys are excellent.
