View Poll Results: IF Subaru gave us enthusiasts a choice for the next STI(2010) which would you choose?
Same 305hp as the 09 but....the Handling upgrades are perfect and "nothing" under $110,000 - gets even close to its agility. 39 48.15%
Subaru gave this version 365 hp ...but the handling is the same as the previous years. 42 51.85%

If people have to choose between a used e46 M3 with low miles or a new STI, Subaru is going to loose a lot of sales. So I think they should either lower the price or raise the performance envelope.
thats very true...when i first looked into the sti, there were only 2 other cars in my wanted list but it was too early for me to have it...so until this past summer when i had to make a choice between it and 5 or 6 other cars

its hard to tell with the oil issues and all...tho they would presumably be gathering ideas soon already

I think the car everyone is after is a 400 AWHP 400 AWTQ car that handles incredibly well for under $50K, and the STI with a GT30R turbo kit and a Race Comp Engineered suspension is exactly that. Subaru isn't going to get the average guy to buy it though. That is why the STI is what it is. Something affordable that is fairly easy to modify.

they should start making it rare now though...bring in the profits from upgrading the wrx a little and save the sti for a more rare crowd

I voted for suspension and handling over the power increase. I feel that the power increase could easily be hand with a simple Stage II upgrade (for less than 2 grand), meanwhile the "perfect handling that no car under 100K can touch" is much more difficult to nail perfectly. Getting better handling can be had through a few simple mods, but getting perfect handling? That's something else.

Also, I think 300 hp is enough. Loose a little weight...say down to 3100 lbs, and its all good.

My vote went to the suspension option because it would cost way more to make an STI out handle anything than to buy stage 2 mods and achieve the same power levels as option 2.

I'm looking at going to a GT-R because I can't see myself owning a 5 dr. If Subaru offered a coupe from STi, I wouldn't consider a GT-R, but that's simply not going to happen anytime soon.

I voted for factory power (with adjustable susp)
