More over, the dealerships near me are charging market adjustments on these new cars making the price difference between a BMW and a new STI about $500. 40k is the base price of a 335i and a 335xi coupe bases at 42,500 and they are superior IN EVERY WAY to the new EVO and STI (if you don't believe me, read the automobile comparison of these vehicles, hint the BMW wins). As luxury cars the new evo and sti fail to live up to their German and Japanese competitors (328/335, and IS250/350), and as performance cars they are slower then their earlier editions. The new STI trades luxury for performance and ends up with a car that delivers adequate levels of NEITHER. So please, get off your high horse and stop attacking people's opinions. If you like your car, thats nice, but don't play the pot and the kettle and put down other people's cars. "I know its hard to admit that an older model of your car is FASTER, but get over it." You want people to quit complaining, LEAD BY EXAMPLE!
Whatever dude. I am not bashing on other cars. Its you and all the other guys bashing the new STi and Evo. And don't try and compare the STi and Evo to 335i's because regardless of your dealer mark-up the price difference on these cars is well over $5,000. STi and Evo are totally different from BMW's.

Murph did you get this car in Westborough? I was in there Saturday. I am debating putting a deposit on one that is coming at the end of the month. I was told they gave you 19k for your 06' which I would like to confirm. Did they let you take a test drive?

I think you were one of the first to get the 06' around here too... congrats!

This has drifted completely off topic. The title of this thread is "from sti to evo x," so we should be bashing the evo x, not the '08 sti.

Show me who was bashing the 08. There's a difference between bashing and sharing an opinion. You didn't like anyone's opinion of the new 08 and attacked them. In fact, the only bashing I really saw was you bashing the 04-07 STi.

If you're happy in your car thats all that matters, who cares what anyone else thinks. This isn't 3rd grade, not everyone has to like your new sneakers and think they're the best.

Wow who cares about what year and car you have lol.
Congrats on the new evo! I was going to buy one but they said that they were not coming out with a manual transmission. So with only 3 sti's is PA I pulled the trigger and got a 07 STI.

Ya I got it at Westborough. Got 19 for it, which was great because KBB states it should be worth around 17. I got to test drive after my second visit there. They knew I was very interested. After we sat down, talked numbers, and told them the exact car I wanted (which was on the lot), they let me drive that car. They said they figured I was going to buy it anyways. And ya, I had one of the fist 06's...hence the high miles. No real complaints about the STi, just felt the evo was so much more car. Especially since I only paid like 2 grand more than my STi. Got the full aero kit, fogs, and titanium shift knob,etc.. Overall, I'd have to say it was my best experience with a dealer. I was very surprised, I hear Mitsu can be asses.

Oh yeah, I have to admit, that thing looks great. Much better than the Subarukia '08.
