Thanks Rootus for answering above questions.

I'm going to find an 07 and stare intently at the taillights and the fake airvents.

Well said! Everyone supports ... what they own . It's been true for every single year of STI produced thus far. It's so predictable that I wonder if we couldn't all agree just to turn these threads into simple polls: "What do you own?" That would distill it to raw numbers, which is all it comes down to anyway....

wells thanks again Rootus for the pics. Personally, i prefer my awesomely fake and non-functioning side vents to be non-body colored especially since the black contrasts very well with my white paint. Heh

So all 07s have the pass through it would seem. I'm a big fan of that. People sitting in the back and reach through it to their food stash and pull it out and eat in the back seat. Eating in the car in general is frowned upon though.

I'm once again reminded of how wonderful it is that the STI is changed every year since it has been out. There's many cars out there that have no changes at all from year to year. This may make it seem that the 08s have less of an upgrade since we're so used to seeing changes every year. STill, from 2004 to 2008, hp has gone from 300-300-300-293-305. Yeah, not that impressive. Still, better than some...like the RX-8 which is 238-238-232-232-232 and will be forever . Or TL which has been 270-270-258-258-258.

Thanks for all the comments and opinions FOLKS....

I think whats best for my daily driving and non-track use would be the '06 with shorter gearing and non tune....Like has been said, certainly NO STI is bad and whats great is that we have this awesome forum to join together and help each other out!

.......I say the SUBARU community has what most other car communities lack, (RESPECT, HONOR, HERITAGE).....

...I wish I could have every year of STI....which I have partially accomplished in "scale 1/18th models" >>Bugeye, Peanut, Hawk...but at least I will Finally have a chance to own the STI-brand that I had a taste of not but 2 years ago.....

I like my07 shes very moody but she loves to be rode hard. The ECU kinda makes the car unpredictable in that I drive for a while real soft and easy and it gets into gas saving mode but if I beat on it for like 20miles it comes back to life.

Well said. Also as far as community goes, I think you'll find that this place is the cream of the crop. Tons of information and not a lot of flameage.

By the way, earlier you asked what 'OP' was... that's 'original poster'. In this thread, that's you, the person who started the thread.

Oh, and I have a WRB/Gold 06, stage 1 AP with no other mods and this is the best car I have ever owned, period. Get a set of snow tires and get ready for 12-months-a-year fun.

Welcome to the gang. I'm sure you'll love whatever you pick.
