| So the front went smooth no problem’s, but as my buddy and i got to the rear we ran in to a problem. The nut on the bottom of the strut was so rusty we some how over spun the nut and broke the strut canister in side the strut. I just so happened to have a set of 07 struts in my garage. So we decided to remove the strut canister and compare the 07 to the 04, we realized that it was about 1/2 inc. longer. We went a head and installed it into the 04 strut. Every thing seems fine. So in short I have 07 strut canisters in my 04 struts in the rear only. It drive’s fine and the clunk is gone. So what do you guy’s think should I keep it that way or go buy some new 04 struts? |

| 02 through 07 the rear housings are the same. 04-07 STi's they are identical (i believe). Your fine with the way you have it, assuming that you tightened everything down properly and installed the strut properly into the housing. I'm about to use a set of wrx housings for my koni rear inserts Jesse
