I drive 80 miles round trip every weekday for work, light weekend driving, some short road trips (200 - 500 miles round trip).. that's about it

I actually just crossed 36k this week. I'm at like 361xx right now.

Bought the car April 5, 2007, its now November 7 2008 and I have 36 k miles on my car... At this pace, I'll have 100k miles in 34 months!! Yay!! (i think I need to move closer to work... or get a new job )

so did you ever find out what caused the engine failure?

So is DS1 doing the motor or P & L? I'd imagine P & L gets their blocks done through Ron at Axis seeing as they do alot of work together.

No idea yet. Most likely P&L but I'm not making any decisions for a few months yet.

Jorge also advised that I talk to Ron. I will probably be giving him a ring sometime next week
36k is bumper to bumper

50k 5year is power terrain and is suppose to warranty anything "moving". Engine is still under waranty.

I forget the dealership, but it's near chicago i think it's gerald subaru, they are suppose to be really good with the warranty work on the ringlands.

Thanks , I'll give them a ring tomorrow morning and see if they can help me out.

Hopefully they will let me drop in some forged internals too

Called Gerald Subaru, they said the car will not be covered under warranty if its been modified.

Called SOA, person I talked to basically said I'd have to sign a waiver to let them tear down my engine and then I'd have to pay for labor and all that jazz if they determine that one of my mods caused the issue. Since they will be unable to produce any scientific factual evidence of this, I asked the SOA rep how they will be able to determine that and she started getting in to how its the Service managers decision with some field techinician there to watch over everything, blah, blah, blah... basically what I got from her was I'm SOL.

Unless someone knows of a mod-friendly dealer in the Chi-Town area looks like I'm paying to have my engine rebuild

SOA==SOL

and some random lowercase text to beat the filter.
