maybe your high silicon numbers are from the pistons. subaru added way way way too much silicon to their hypereutectic pistons.

I actually just got done talking with Jorge about this all. I called up DS1 motorsports (which is only a couple miles from my house ) to talk to them about an engine rebuild. From what it sounds like, I may be purchasing a brand new short block for $1750, having them drop in some forged goodies, and then having them swap the blocks. I can sell my used block for about $500. I've got several months to plan this all out, but that sounds like a really nice approach to me

Not a bad route. Less down time that way.

Why go with DS1 over P&L for the rebuild?

Is the 07 shortblock the same as the 05, save the pistons?

Oh I haven't made my mind up yet on anything, was just calling around to talk to people. I would love to give my business to P&L because I respect them and Jorge is always so helpful to me. This is going to be a costly project so I of course need to call around and see what's going to be the best for me. I'm at least going to pop in to DS1 since its literally like 2 miles from my house and talk to them some more about the whole process. Honestly, the fact that this place is so close to my house is a huge +.

I have stayed out of boost for like 6 to 10 weeks now The pain of not being able to have fun with my car is really starting to get to me I might have to push this engine rebuild a little sooner!

If you are shopping around there's also the (former) axis place down state. not sure fo the new name, but their motors have a good rep.

Gondy, just have it repaired under warranty, lately subaru has been fixing 07 with ringlands without many questions asked since they've realized the flaw.

Dylan and Jeff at DS1 do some amazing work too and while you're there they might try and sell you some Tomei products

Thats Ron from Raw1Performance Home. Yes he does build good motors, friend of mine has his Stage III or Stage IV whatever they were calling it at the time, along with his headwork.

I have over 36k on the odo, I doubt they will honor any warranty. I called Subaru in Countryside about it and the service manager told me if I could completely return the car back to stock, they could take care of me... otherwise they couldn't do the work under warranty. I don't have any of my stock parts so to go back to stock would be a huge PITA.

Jorge also advised that I talk to Ron. I will probably be giving him a ring sometime next week
