That was quick. Very very nice work.

I'm curious why no harness bar?? I'm curious to the difference in a "X" between the two rear supports or the "V" that you have for rigidity and strength. I know 3 people with cages, me being one of them, and all three are different in some shape or form.

Looks great though you'll be amazed at how stiff the damn car is. Nothing compares to a caged car vs a car with suspension mods, put the two together and WOW!

the harness bar is in the rear across the strut towers

The cage was built to meet the FIA specs that Rally America requires with the minimal amount of material as possible (hence the v's instead of x's where possible). The cage is simple, it is light, it complies with what Rally America needs (Mike Hurst the technical director of RA has already seen the cage mostly completed, I need to add my seat belt anchors before it can be log booked though).

nice nice, i was just wondering the rigidity factor. I knwo the weight plays a huge roll.

I totalled missed the harness bar, I"m so use to seeing them in the middle "X" or what not.

Very nice work, do you have an estimate of the weight of the cage??? I know the new rule change of 1.90'' instead of the 1.75'' plays a roll in now.

Are you getting that sprayed?? WRB is what mine will be once the whole thing is in

The car is coming along nice and I love the fact that you USE the car for what it was intended for. It saddens me to see STi's turned into riced out show cars. They want to be beat on and raced whether track, auto-x, rally-x or hillclimb!!!

Oh and I got my Suzuka's in, I talked to you before you were looking to get them. I highly recommend them. The imola is really nice but the Suzuka's are the way to go.

Too bad you live in MN you could teach me how to drive this car on loose surface AND I live 2hrs away from Team O'neil!

Best of luck with the build and racing!!

I figure, if the design meets rally america's requirements, it must be rigid enough to function as intended.

the cage weighs ~200lbs

those suzukas look awesome! if and when the budget allows, I'll have to consider them (although I do want a seat with the built in headguards to keep the noodle away from the cage)

I might do team o'neil this coming year. my buddy who goes to school here in mn and helps me with the car lives out in Mass near team o'neil too so we might do it together
