a full car wrap usually ends up being around 2k. One of my sponsors is a graphics company though. I don't think I will actually do a complete wrap though.

anyway

Had some buddies come over to help me cut up my car. Here's the end result. now the question is, color match the scoop or leave it white? it actually looks suprisingly good white. the car does usually have white wheels on it and the graphics scheme will be primarily white

yes the vent closes - it also opens both forward and backwards. should be very waterproof - the lid has a rubber seal. I sealed the flange on the inside with silicone and also around the opening and the vent

thanks! she's coming along nicely! I have some underbody protection to make tomorrow (semi truck mudflaps in HDPE are a nice size for rear suspension armor)

Nice progress. I finally got my cage in!!! I don't have pics up of it painted, just primed. It's flat black in color. Its slowly coming together and I hope to have buckets in by the spring for next track season. After track duty for the next year or two it's going to be retired into rallying!!!

Here's some pics in the thread I made.

I am sorry, but you are kidding right? He could have done way better on that light bar. I give huge credit for doing it, cause I don't see any one else doing it! Wouldn't been easier to buy the light pod , than make a back yard style light bar? Round tube would have looked a lot better that square stoke and the alum angle iron. Be creative!! AND GET SOME GAS FOR THAT WELDER!! Looks like you stick welded it. Over time those welds are going to crack and you will be running over your hella's.
Sorry for the bashing, great idea, go back to the drawing board on design.

you're one of those people who always has something to say, right?

here's some food for thought. Light pod = $500. 4 lights for light pod = $1200 (unfortunately pods are designed to be used with bend you over PIAA HID's).

do I care what it looks like? no. it's function is to hold lights not look pretty. it's a bonus if the car looks good but not an objective.

valid point on the welds - no gas, welded with flux core. However, the set-up has lasted for nearly a year of heavy abuse with no cracking.

Lighting is being redone anyway. I'll be sure to alert you so you can nitpick it

Here are some shots of my car at a rallyx last weekend. I took 4th in M4 and 4th overall
