Btw my dad has a XD-M .40, XD 9 (small version), and XD-45 full barrel. I personally am not a huge fan of the trigger.. but the 45 does shoot accurately. I'll stick with my 1911 .45

Twisties, Know this is a little late, but did you take any pictures of the misalignment? I had a mis-alignment issue when I installed a 20G for a friend last year. Discovered after wasting time that I needed to re-position the uppipe in the mounting reinforcement, which moved the turbo cold side outlet and CURED my mis-alignment! When the original engine is assembled at the factory they use fixtures to align everything in the install process. We (you and me) put parts on one at a time tightening each as we go. Sometimes the parts need to remain somewhat loose to align in series and then tighten to spec. I say this because you added headers and then an uppipe which can move the whole package. Peace, dAb

I did get that XD .40 subcompact 3" and matt has been showing me the ropes at the local range. I've put 200 rounds through it so far and getting more accurate with it each time. Car-wise....just enjoying it. It'll need new summer tires in the future and the 60k is creeping up.

IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2005 | Nice Twisties! If you don't mind me asking, how much did all the group-n bushings cost you? I'll be putting my whiteline lateral links and STi trailing arms on in a couple of weeks, but I have been contemplating getting group-n's pressed in my STi arms...Hmm... Thanks! Kind Regards, Ryan |

| S204 Racer Feedback Score: 8 reviews | Small update: I took the car to AREA1320 for my 60k last weekend. Oil change, coolant change, new plugs, and a clean air filter. My Perrin headers were rattling and Ryan found that the slip joints were leaking, so he welded them up. The noise went away for a few days, but its back now at lower rpms than before, so I'm hoping it can be tracked down and fixed for good. I would really prefer not to go back to the stock manifold after seeing the benefits of the equal length header. Ryan found a small leak in my catback since its a slip fit too, but that just required some tightening down. We also saw that my original version of the Whiteline Roll Center Kit had a torn boot on the ball joint portion. The whole kit is under a recall and Whiteline has sent me a free replacement with a revised design, so I just need to have it installed and the car re-aligned. Then Whiteline will send me a box to put the old kit back in and mail back to them free of charge. Pretty sweet deal. Ryan also installed the RCE rear swaybar and took out the Whiteline bar. The Whiteline bar is rusted to hell after 2 years of use, so I will be sanding it down and repainting it before putting it up for sale. Its the 24-26mm bar, so if anyone wants it, $100 takes it. Comes with bushings. I'm going back in tonight or tomorrow depending on his schedule to get the idler pulley replaced on the car, since its on its way out. It's quite audible around 2k and he explained that if that goes, it'll take a few things with it. $23 part, so a big no brainer to get it fixed. The RCE sway is set at soft, which is 25.5mm. I had the Whiteline bar set in the middle, which is roughly 25mm (although some calcs have shown it to be closer to 24.6). The difference between the two bars is pretty noticeable, surprisingly. The rear end of the car is a bit more alive now and since the RCE bar uses washer tabs to prevent walking, my car has lost a rear end clunk that it used to have. I have the following plans for the car coming up when I get more money (and hopefully a 2nd job) -new tires for my 18" wheels (I'm going to go with Dunlop Star Specs in 235) -RCE front swaybar is on order but I'm waiting on them to get it instock -Whiteline RCA kit replaced -new front brake rotors since mine have a nice lip on them Then, I can get the car inspected finally, haha. All it takes is money, right? |
