Did a little test fit of the new steering wheel over the weekend. I just wanted to check spacing and position before I send it off to get finished and wired up. It felt perfect in my hands...just wait 'til you see how cool this thing looks when it's done!

One step closer to getting the steering wheel done, now it just needs to be sent off for wiring. I was originally planning to just use the Samsonas gear lever but I figured if I have to pay to get the wheel wired up, I may as well do it right the first time. I was able to score an incredible deal on a bunch of Geartronics parts from a pro team who had them as spares, and the rest of the system was pieced together with new parts. This is what we're using:

-Geartronics paddles
-Geartronics shift actuator
-Geartronics valve block
-Shiftec air compressor
-Shiftec air accumulator

The ECU has gotten the latest update to include closed loop paddle shift control. It should be one badass setup when it's all done!

Whoa -- that's badass.

So you still have the actual shifter correct? But the paddles can also actuate it? Or is it just paddles now?

And do you still use the clutch pedal? Or is that all taken care of with this system too?

No it will just be paddles, the rod that the shift lever moves fore/aft is replaced with a pneumatic actuator. The clutch is only needed to pull off from a stop in first gear, after that all upshifts and downshifts are clutchless.

I spent the day yesterday working on some preseason prep. I had previously worked with AJ Hartman Aero on a set of canards, which I finally installed. I went up to his shop with the intention of having him take moulds from my bumper and create a set of custom canards but we were actually able to go through his sample inventory for various applications and find something that was a perfect fit, so saved a bunch of money there.

I also got a set of headlight blanks with intake duct from ABW Motorsport. They dropped 14 lbs. off the front end and gave me an easy way to duct cool air to an airbox. Fitment isn't perfect but I'll massage them a bit more and make it work. I may have to add an additional bracket to hold them in place where I want them. Working on a bunch more stuff, just needed to take some measurements and order materials. More to come soon!
