Hey, I have a question for ya: is that Zaino juice *really* worth the extra cost and effort? I've been using Maguire's Polish and NXT for a couple of years on all my cars and have had good results, or so I think...

I think so. Since I started using it I only have to spend 1 weekend a year per car and the protection lasts till the following year. Plenty of info on Zaino and other products in the Exterior section.

you know what fly, if nothing else, by doing 6 or 7 coats of zaino i can inflict the maximum possible effort and expense on myself to make it look good, which helps me to compensate for all those deep-seated self-esteem issues i have raging around in my head. besides that, the sh*t's great.

update - day 27

the replacement crawford (rps) pressure plate arrived as promised today, as did the "eddie marine" polished billet optima battery box for the trunk. i can't wait to show you how stunning it looks. the cusco radiator shield is shipped. the element turbo kit is within striking distance just an hour or so away. i predict it will be here monday (and NOT thursday as predicted by ups).

while i was in austin, little ricky finished wiring the defi bf and turbosmart e-boost2 a-pillar gauges. the pyrotechnic display you get when you turn the key is worthy of a vegas show. unfreakingbelievable. the cusco tranny mount and the kartboy and tic bushing sets are also installed. following aps directions, we cut off a few now-unnecessary tabs in preparation to mount the dr725. man, it is one hell of a unit.

we ran out of time tonight or we would have dropped the motor in (again). we might get another wack at it this weekend if the weather craps out. all of the qt-sized baggies we've been using to sort all the parts that were removed during disassembly are disappearing fast. the excitement is starting to build as we head for the final stretch. i'll try to post some pics in the next day or so.

i'm looking forward to seeing everyone in englishtown tomorrow for the shootout. if you see a guy in a crewcut wearing a "glock shooting sports" t-shirt please say hi.

Boy, and my wife thinks *I'm* obsessive! I'll give the stuff a try. The build is going good, pardner. Steady as she goes.

Mine is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, followed by the dyno on Saturday. The parts are all here so we're ready to go. It should be fun...

update - day 29

the motor and clutch are in. the turbo kit will be here tomorrow. i got a major rush at englishtown yesterday gazing into the engine bay of the element time attack car. the sight of my what amounts to my own engine looking back at me gave me a chubby that only a two-banger of viagra could. speaking of chubbies, i'm treating you to a clothed pic of little ricky's gf in the pics below (youre welcome). if you were lucky enough to be watching the webcam when we turned it on for the first time, her breasts will need no introduction (your welcome again). we might do better yet before this project is finished.

the element car had some problems with its nitrous setup but phil still ran a respectable 11.4 et.

i think we'll be able to wrap this up this week.

pics - in order:
- first (two) things first
- new sti kevlar timing belt
- the belt comes with timing marks on it to assist set-up
- the crawford (rps) max clutch mounted before dropping the motor back in

if youre waiting for me to post pics of the motor on its way back in, just go back and play the removal pics in reverse (isfh).
