Default FORCFED's 04 AW - Oil/Coolant leak? Swapping trunk lids tomorow!!!!

I searched for months to find a low milage un-modded 04 or 05 STI and came across an unmolested 04 Aspen White with 3,100 miles on it. She was in perfect condition and completly stock. So, I sold my 03 Nissan Sentra Spec-V, so i was able to purchase the car in April 2007. I have been enjoying every minute of owning this car and have never looked back. Works fairly well as a family car but most of the time the wifes car is used when we go somewhere.

How do you like the Crawford air/oil separator? Did you do two tanks or one? How much oil are you catching?

Default Re: Sparta440's 04 AW STI Crawfors Air/Oil Seporator

I have not had a chance to install that yet. The way its set-up there is no need for 2. The A/O seporator doesn't store the oil like a catch can, the oil drains back into the system.

Post Re: Sparta440's 04 AW STI - Schroth Harness's Installed

My Schroth Quick fit harness's finally came in (driver and passanger side). Install was very easy and uses the factory anchor points. They can be removed/installed within seconds. These will mainly be used for AutoX and track days.

My 3 year old son trying them out!

I also have a CG Lock for the Driver side that i use when i dont have the harness in. It works by keeping the factory belt tension tight.

Went out for a little test drive on some twisties. What a difference these harnesses make. They hold you fairly well but the side to side movement is alittle more than i was hoping for but not bad for the stock seats. I even noticed the passanger oh crap handel wasnt pulled out after we got back.

Default Sparta440's 04 AW STI - Coated Downpipe

Well tomorow i will finally be installing my TurboXS RFL-TI Turbo Back. I had the downpipe coated by Crucial Racing and they did a great job. The coating is on the inside and outside of the downpipe. I set some lift time aside at my buddies garage for the install.

Default Re: Sparta440's 04 AW STI - RFL-Ti Turboback

Im an finally Stage 2! The sound of the boxer rumble is the best part. The difference in power going from stage 1 to 2 is a huge jump. Install went fairly well. No busted knuckels and all bolts broke loose without any major problems. I cut the factory heat shield and added a SPT heat shield. The worst part was working on the car while it was still hot. I didnt have the time to let it cool but gloves and a fire blanket on the motor worked well.

Here are some pics from my phone. I forgot my camera the night i put it on.

Default Re: Sparta440's 04 AW STI - Heat Shield Trimming

Here's a picture provided by Crucial Racing showing how to trim the factory heat shield to accomadate an aftermarket downpipe. I used a cut-off wheel and it work fine. An air saw or a dremel with a metal cut-off tool would also work.
